It keeps me busy most of the time, and the people I work with are nice too. Honestly I'm just grateful to even have a job after 4 years out of work. xD;

...plus money. Money is very important for buying video games living.

 

Eh my dream (and goal) is to improve enough in my art to have paid commission that keep me alive
also some artists even have patreons and stuff??
I'll probably first get a simple job to have money to live and hopefully if I manage to live off my art only I guess I could quit (or not idk)

 

I wish I could do that same, but with writing somehow. I'd probably starve in the first month of graduation.

I've always wanted to pursue some sort of creative career - writing would probably be better for me than drawing - but they're ridiculously competitive fields and I doubt I'd stand a chance...my drawings are mediocre and my writing is constantly being re-written because I'm never happy with it.

I've often wondered what it takes to actually get noticed in a creative field...it's always seemed more like random chance than anything else, because there are some amazing artists and musicians on the internet who don't seem to get nearly enough recognition.

Maybe consider Patreon? A lot of independent artists seem to go through that these days.

 

Yeah I may have like a Patreon and money commissions. But I need my art to improve first so I can draw more stuff and feel okay with charging money for it. At least I've got some different art styles to choose from I guess.

 

I'd love to start a Patreon for a novel or something, but I'm scared I wouldn't be able to finish it if I did, and I'd end up letting a lot of people down. Stuff like that is very dependant on the goodwill of fans, which is a very intangible asset.

 

I do a lot of writing, but my only fear nowadays is that my passion for something will die out before I finish it. I'm doing a book on Wattpad that's a commenter-signup book, and I'm really excited to get it started because I've honed the idea for quite a while. However, I'm not sure if it'll make it.

 

It's harder to find the passion to do something when you're obligated to do it (or at least under pressure to do it) right? I kinda feel like if I did this stuff as a living, then I wouldn't have anything to do for fun any more.

So very cold, and trying to keep busy to stave off another meltdown. Business as usual!

 

I'm doing quite good. I'm trying to convince myself to lay off novel writing till my exams are over...argh...and I have spend like 4 hours sitting still listening to people talk about research project...argh...that won't be fun. Lot's of Pokémon drawings will ensue during that.

The weekend is upon us once again! Thank god this week is over, tbh. Health issues, laptop woes, and work. The Unholy Trinity of Misery.

Mother's birthday today, and I'll also have this afternoon and tomorrow night to myself...maybe I can end the week on a slightly more positive note. Maybe.
