Thanks She's gone to visit my brother for the day, so I have the house to myself until this evening. Works for me. xD
Got anything exciting planned for your birthday next year? I've been planning a trip to Rome for my 30th, although I don't know yet how I'll get there...a coach trip would be better for me, but it'd take substantially longer.
I'm turning 29, so not really? Maybe lunch with dad? For my 30'th I want to do something maybe a bit special? Idk each decade birthdays are pretty cool.
i turn 28 next year jesus christ can't believe there are only four months left until my birthday, literally feels like i just turned 27 @_@ time pls visiting Rome sounds awesome :> as does a relaxing lunch with dad. whatever makes you guys happy!
Time goes by scary quick the older you get, I've found...I graduated from University in 2013 and it feels like it was only a few months ago sometimes ;_; What would make me happiest would be not growing any older...well, remaining alive and not growing older. xD
Usually I don't do anything, although my grandparents will be down on Christmas Day this year, so I suppose I'll be expected to socialise rather than disappear and play the game I'll have been waiting nearly a month for by that time. xD
Not much, usually just a short dinner. We don't make a big deal out of gifts and just give them out anytime during Christmas Eve or Day. Seeing those traditional Christmas events in movies and TV shows where people gather to open up and react to their gifts is interesting, but is such a foreign concept for an introvert family like mine, haha. @_@
We do the family present session! I think it might be the one time in the year when we're all in the same room for longer than five minutes. I think my family functions best when we're all avoiding one another otherwise. Family vacations are usually "Dawn stays at home whilst the rest of us go somewhere else" as well. xD
My own parents are divorced but my mom and step father hate each other too, it's so weird. Idk why they're married
I think with a lot of people marriage becomes as much a convenience as it does anything else - it comes with many benefits that you wouldn't otherwise get, and divorce is a messy, tiresome procedure. It's surprisingly easy to avoid someone even if you live with them, so I think with most people it's probably easier to do that rather than go through the courts.
That's true too, and it'd be a lot of changes too But like god hearing them talk to each other is torture
okay for me getting fed up with my job but at least i have a salary coming in haha, excited for my two weeks off next month!
I'll be so relieved this time next week when I finish work for a couple of weeks...it's not bad I guess, but it's tiring, and it doesn't really feel like Christmas when I have to work. I booked the second week of January off - going back on the 2nd is the most depressing thing I can imagine, and I have to watch my brother on the 3rd and 4th - so I have a nice long break to look forward to~
