So, this trailer just dropped a few days ago, many of us probably remember the great times that teachers would play the Magic School Bus for the day over a real lesson. The series went on for a while and eventually ended, 1994-1997, with 52 lessons taught. Looking at this reboot though, it takes the wonderful qualities of the older version and smears them. I can't say the animation looks amazing, it looks like a fan made low-quality internet show. I am overall disappointed at this trailer and I do hope they are able to make the show a better quality in the real release but only time will tell. What do you guys think?
I'll miss the images where people say "WHO WOULD LET RIVER SONG SUPERVISE CHILDREN!!" As they compare the old Miss Frizzle with River Song.
*sighhhhhhhh* What can I say about this? I loved the Magic School Bus as a kid. I still do. But I really am not fond of this reboot. I mean, the animation doesn't really look that good, and.... Ms. Frizzle is basically being replaced qwq I appreciate the fact that they're trying to remake the series, but I just don't feel that confident in it to be quite honest. I think I'll just stick to the original for now
Oh gosh, I forgot that this even existed. It's been so long since I watched the original that I can barely remember anything about it The reboot looks...kinda eh, but I hope someone enjoys it.
I'm pretty meh on this whole thing. We're people really clamoring for this to be rebooted? The animation looks like a generic Flash animation to me and that's a pretty big insult to a series so iconic among so many people. I don't like the new teacher at all, sister or not. She just looks so randomly placed in. We'll have to see what this series is like at official release, but for now I'm setting my expectations low. REALLY low.
i'm not a huge fan of the new style, but i'm happy they kept the old theme song even if they tweaked it to be more modern
I really don't like the idea of a reboot at all; I think the Magic School Bus was perfect just the way it was, and teachers still use that show - why do we need another version? Ms. Frizzle's sister I don't approve of; at least keep the original Ms. Frizzle there. She was a near and dear constant character and the Magic School Bus is not the Magic School Bus without Ms. Frizzle. On the bright side, it means they can't botch her character. In addition, it seems really . . . cheesy. I mean, yes, children's TV shows are meant to be cheesy - but this is outrageous. The original Magic School Bus was actually tolerable. And, last but not least, the animation has been commented on before - I don't like it either.
The Magic School reboot, eh? My thoughts on it...Okay? I mean, the acting could be better. Not gonna lie. But the animation is...alright at best, imo. It's not the greatest nor the worst. It's just suits it okay enough to be a kids show. So I don't mind it. I do hope that this reboot is enjoyable because most of the time, reboots ends up taking the name of a familiar title...and that's about it. Everything else isn't like the original title. >.>"
I'm not expecting much. Netflix series that have been worth watching have always seemed few and far between. It doesn't help that most of their 'original' stuff that's supposed to be good are rated TV-MA, which means I won't watch then on principle no matter how much I would want to watch them. Clearly there's no worry about this having that problem, since its a kid's show, but it doesn't look like they've put any effort into trying to recapture the original's spirit, just make a bland show with elements of the original. And it looks like they kept the same kids as the original, which is weird if they're replacing Ms. Frizzle. It seems like it should be the other way around.
