Group RP The Mystery of the Unown (RP)

“That’s an understatement.” He growled as he looked at the sentret, she had no idea what she just caught? He was used to seeing off colored but the way Daphne acted made him guess she was not use to these rare variants and had no idea she had one perching on her shoulder right now.

His attention turned to the person behind her when she pointed a thumb at them. “I see no issues with that, as long as they pull their own weight.” He said suddenly forgetting his embarrassment; they were already three so one more couldn’t hurt.

He heard Taidana coming up to them with laugher in his voice, “Haha very funny, everyone laughs at the guy that’s drenched head to toe.”

His gaze snapped back to the sentret on his companion’s shoulder looking at it for a moment before speaking again, “You got no idea what it is you have on your shoulder do you?” The expression she made told it all, “Okay you don’t know then. Lemme tell you, you caught one of the rarest things that exist. Ever heard of the term shiny pokémon? A rare genetic trait that leaves pokémon with colors different from the majority of its species,” Tamariel would have continued but a chansey had started mobbing up the water trail he was leaving behind and it gave him a gentle poke on the back with the end of the mob shaft, half telling him to move out of the way and half telling him to go dry off so he would spread it further.

“I’ll be right back.” He rushed off to the dome area, with the chansey following him as it dealt with the water.

 

Tamariel quickly got rid of the soaked garments and changed into the clothes he normally used for jogging and working out, sweatpants and shirt. He let out a sigh as he picked up his boots, there was no way he could wear these till they were dry.

“Guess flip flops gonna have to do, why not give everyone another thing to snicker at I’m already joke of the day anyway.” He said with a sigh as he picked up his soaked clothes to drop it into one of the center’s dryers on the way back to his room.

Jumping into the flip flops and grabbing his phone which he was now glad he’d left in his pack before training. He went back out in the lobby to find his companion still near the front desk; I guess he was faster than he thought as he walked up to them still with partially wet hair.

“Are you having a staring contest with the sentret or something?” Noting the intense gaze Taidana had on the pokémon. He turned his attention back the tor sentret, “Hold still for a second little one, I know someone that would love to see this.” He said as he held up his phone and snapped a picture of it. Soon after Tamariel’s phone exploded in a barrage of beeps as one message after another arrived, just looking at Tamariel made it obvious he found it amusing.

“She’s a total nut for shinies, she even got one herself.” Tamariel added before he answered immediately as his phone began to ring putting it on speaker. A female voice blurted out “Where did you find that one, tell me is yours!” Now it was Tamariel’s turn to stifle a laugh before even responding.

“No auntie it ain’t mine, it belongs to one of my traveling companions, just thought you would like to see it since you’re obsessed with them. Oh by the way you’re on speaker.” His aunt’s reaction confirmed he’d been right about it being a shiny pokémon. “That also confirms I was right, your sentret is a rare find.” He said looking at Daphne briefly before turning his attention back to his phone.

“Traveling companions, since when did that happen?”

“At Elm’s lab, we were there at the same time and decided to travel together.”

The banter between Tamariel and his aunt went on for a few minutes as he summed up what had happened before his aunt returned the topic to the shiny sentret as she hoped to get a few more pictures of it, “If you’re still traveling together by the time you reach Goldenrod I would love to see it in person if that’s okay.”

“Well that’s up to its trainer I would say.” Tamariel said giving Daphne a apologizing look, he knew this would happen the moment he send that picture.

 

Tamariel’s aunt was more than excited about the chance to see Daphne’s sentret in person and it only increased at the mentioning of it possibly being evolved by the time they got to Goldenrod City. After that she bid them all farewell and safe travels as she had to get back to work.

“Is gonna be more than a bit, my clothes will be dry in about 45 minutes at most but my boots that’s a different story. It’ll take hours for them to dry since Bruce was generous with the water.” He looked at their new traveling companion, “In the meantime we should use the hours check and prepare for the travel to the next city, and you can all thank Bruce for the delay.” He put away the phone then looked at his traveling companions; he couldn’t imagine them being happy with having to wait hours for his stuff to dry.

He picked up his pokémon after Joy had checked them over and told his companions he was going to the store for one last round of supply pick up just in case he missed something since he had nothing else to do till his things had dried. Before going he set Mortis to guard the dryer with his clothes in just in case someone decided to try something.

 

“If you wanna to come sure, I’m just gonna pick up a few things.” Tamariel said as he left the center after making sure he had his wallet.

At the store Tamariel picked out a few things including a few extra things for the first aid kit, snacks, and some ingredients as he wanted to work on a project him and his aunt had been working on while traveling if he got the chance.

While browsing the shelves he kept thinking about the training session he had with Bruce, even if they still needed to get use to each other it still worried him that the totodile so willingly used his water gun to say his opinion, “I hope I can get him to stop with that or I’m going to look forward to many hours of waiting for my clothes to dry.”

He sighed as he stopped in the berry section to see if there was any he could use for his little project. Some of the berries his aunt wanted to work with were a bit on the rare side and some weren’t cheap either.

 

“You’ve made me curious about the egg now.” Tamariel laughed, he’d been listening to Daphne’s excitement about picking up the egg from Mr. Pokémon and he had to admit he was starting to get curious about what would hatch from it. He’d never taken care of an egg before but Daphne being an aspiring breeder it was probably a somewhat common thing for her he thought.

Mortis was walking next to Titania giving a low bark in response to the ninetales while keeping an eye out for trouble and an eye on the troublesome totodile that’d become his new teammate as the young pokémon was following Mint in and out of the grass. Bruce came rolling out of the grass, jumped right back up and dashed back in to join the chikorita again.

“So Daphne if you don’t mind me asking, what made you wanna become a breeder?” Tamariel though it a good idea to try get to know his new traveling companions and since him and Daphne had already interacted a bit he’d start with her.
