Be your favorite metal bands European-based, American-based, or for all I know, Antarctica-based, all metal bands are welcome here :3

Anyway, I really didn't listen to much music beyond Weird Al, The Beatles, and the odd musical before the early 2000's, and that was about when I discovered Nightwish and at this point over half the music I own is metal.

So be it Finnish, German, or even Spanish (lol Dark Moor), what metal bands do you all listen to/enjoy?

Actually before the thread kicks off I'm going to recommend everyone give Blind Guardian's "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" a listen some time.

    ...*listening*

Huh. I've heard of these guys but never really gave them a listen before. Reminded a bit of both Dio and Symphony X.

Nnnngh...I WANTED to like "I Don't Care", but it got so much radio play around here that three out of every five times I turned on the radio I'd end up hearing "I DOOON'T CAAAAARE, I DOOON'T CAA-AAARE~" and it hit a point where I'd switch the station upon even hearing his voice.

    Overplay sucks :(

"Not Strong Enough" is pretty good though :)

(listening to Cannibal Corpse as I'm replying to this topic) - Madaraki, Blind Guardian is awesome to listen too

I'm mostly into the heavier stuff - death metal and viking metal. I also listen a lot to Thrash Metal, Folk Metal, Power Metal, & Black Metal.
Not sure what got me into Metal music, been listening to it since 2001. I listened to other genres (exception of some Hard Rock bands) of music but they where too slow and boring (to the point that it made me fall asleep).

I listen a lot to Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Death, Divine Empire, Impaled, Nile, Narjahanam - death metal is my main preference in Metal.

Along the way I been discovering a few other bands I have been enjoying - such as Skálmöld, Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Metsatöll, Ásmegin, & Týr.

    Hello, my fellow Metalheads \m/
Gotta say, my all time favourite would have to be Iron Maiden. You don't get better than good ol' heavy metal. I've taken a liking to progressive death metal recently as well, Dream Theater being on of my favourites.

My favorite? Slipknot. A lot of my favorites are too explicit for this forum. But one of the ones that isn't is Snuff. It's one of the rare Slipknot songs with neither screaming nor explicit language. It's about the loss of love (like a breakup if you will), and sounds a bit a long the lines of Corey Taylor's OTHER band (Stone Sour).

Have you seen some of the songs we've posted? Nothing is too explicit for this forum lol
