The Return of Looker

Yes, I was so happy when I saw this. Looker is my favorite character and I felt overjoyed to see him return. Please...there must be more to this! I wanna get a full story from our favorite international police officer.

He is, and always will be my favorite character, namely because his Japanese name is Handsome.

 

Well you see, back when the Looker was fighting some thieves, he came into contact with Bartholomew Kuma. Kuma slapped him with one of his paw pads and sent him flying for 7 days until he landed at the battle resort.

 

I was so happy Looker made a return, but it made me really sad that he didn't remember who he was. Hopefully, he'll become an important of an event of some kind, but I really don't know how to react to him.

 

The weird thing is OR/AS happens before X/Y which can be proven through various things in the game. In X/Y Looker is indeed part of the International Police like in gens 4 and 5. So does OR/AS happen before Platinum and B/W/B2/W2 and Looker becomes part of the International Police because he lost his memory and has no where else to go or does he regain it in between OR/AS and X/Y. Very interesting.

 

My theory is this:

After the events of X and Y, Looker was assigned a new mission that took place in Hoenn. While on his flight/boat etc., the awakening of Groudon/Kyogre happened, and the massive sunlight/rain cause the ship to lose control and wreck. Looker was hurt so badly by the wreck that he lost his memory in the process and fell unconscious, coming to on the shore of the Battle Resort.

 

I always have loved Looker, he was awesome in Platinum, I loved his return in B/W, and his return in X/Y made me even happier.

But now, in OR/AS, I get sad going into the hut he stays in; the slowed down version of his iconic theme makes me feel sad, it sounds almost like a final fanfare...

I have never liked Looker and I still don't. They need to stop bringing him back. Sorry to be so downbeat about it, but it's getting old.

 

Looker, Cheren, and Steven are my favorite characters from Pokémon so I was very happy with this and nearly died when I was running around the Resort and bumped into him. Was really hoping for a little story of some sort, similar to the Emma sidequest in X/Y, but that didn't happen. D': Though it was even more satisfying to get the mega stone for my favorite mega evolution from him.. and amusing since Audino sounds like "I dunno", which was basically Looker's problem here, baha. He had no idea what was going on or where he was.

Hopefully something in the form of a patch or DLC will be added to include the story but I won't get my hopes up; nice enough that he's given a cameo.

As for how he ended up in Hoenn, I like to think he washed ashore and lost his memory from the thunderstorm/drought caused by Kyogre/Groudon.

 

Looker appearing in Hoenn was pretty random tbqh. He's an OK character, but I wish he had his own subplot like he did in ORAS, especially given how lacking ORAS's post-game is. As others have said, maybe it'll be available through DLC. Orrrr maybe Delta Emerald will happen and he'll have a bigger role then, which would also be awesome.

lol either way, I was happy he did show up in the game, but was unhappy with how his only purpose (at the moment) is to give you Audinonite.
Hopefully if we do get a sequel or DLC, we get some more backstory on him for ORAS.

 

I was glad Looker came back, and it was almost like a PMD reference haha. Except Looker obviously isn't a Pokémon. I hope he'll have some significance thought, i really liked the Looker quest in XY even thought it was pretty short.

 

I was definitely not expecting Looker to make a return, at all. It didn't make sense. But now that he's here, with a lost memory, I'm so so curious. I highly doubt they'll let this sit the way it is now for too long, then again I highly doubted Looker's return, too! Hmm guess we'll see... but I do hope they do something cool with this!

 

I was honestly both happy, confused, and sad to see Looker washed up ashore. In Kalos he just disappears without a trace after you finished up the stuff involving him, but now suddenly he's there in Hoenn, and unfortunately can't remember anything. I was just really wishing I could tell him who he was, but it wouldn't have made sense to have that option, since as Brendan/May it would have been your first time meeting him. I hope he will have some kind of further significance in the game later on though, or in a Emerald Remake if one ever does get made even, it was just both nice and saddening to see him again only to then find out he has amnesia.

 

Looker is a great character, so it's great to see him return, I would love to find out what happened to him and I really hope they give us an explaination.
