    ●Ever wanted to talk about something in Hacking?
    ●Didn't think it could deserve its own thread?
    ●Wanted expertise on a certain area of hacking?

    Well this is all of that combined!

    A simple chat thread where all discussion on hacking is involved. Break the ice with other hackers while learning more on ROM Hacking, then you actually wanted to know. XD

    For me, close but not quite. A year and a few quarters for me. For the longest, hacking seemed to be in some rut, so I joined the bandwagon during a good time. XD

    I actually don't ROM Hack but the concept is really awesome and looks like it's a lot of fun.

    Hacking is alot of fun once you get the basics down :). You'll see that making one has its limits but ultimately up to what you decide to do. Once a Tuts section of this place happens, would anyone be opposed to me posting Tutorials on the matter?

    So far there is no extensive way to hack 3DS Roms, nor are they commercial. There are ROM Dumps, but they is no research nor is there any sort of emulator that can replaicate them prefectly with no slow-down.

    In all honesty, wouldn't 3DS Roms be hard to hack and edit in general? There's so many things to do such as the remodeling the sprites, or animations, or even the landscape if you would choose so. There's so much data in 3DS roms in general, wouldn't it be more impossible than possible?

    Yeah, editing stuff like that would definitely be a pain. You could (assuming you could access the game's files) quite easily change Spawn lists for Pokémon on routes, or change a trainer's team, or change dialogue, in theory. Truth is, there's a bunch of protection on the new games so they're hard to hack. But I've seen a few people who have managed to pull the 3D models off of the cartridge, so there is progress being made by hackers.

    As for me, I don't know much about ROM hacking, but I sure know about Game Development (I fit in, right? :3 ). I've wanted to try my hand at a ROM hack at some point, but I've been more busy with my RPG Maker game instead - Might as well stick with what I know, right? :P

    Depends on what you call possible and impossible. It's just the matter of what tools would be available for the ROM. For instance, it is fully possible to edit 3D models of DS Roms, but ultimately it's just a difficult process. It all depends on what's out there to aid us. Just expect good tools to not come for YEARS!
