In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, once you beat the 7th gym leader, Blaine. Bill will ask you to go with him and gives you a pass to get access to islands One, Two, and Three to help with the pcs there. Once you beat the champion, obtain the national dex, and go back to island, you can get a pass to get to Islands Four, Five, Six, and Seven. Unlike Red, Blue, and Yellow instead of Victory Road, you can get Moltres on Mt. Ember in Island One. What do you think about this unique change for the first generation?

I love the Sevii Islands. I wish that they would bring this feature back, or something like it. It helped extend the game a few hours and was a welcome change. I wish we could have gone back in HGSS.

I liked the Sevii Islands, One was a perfect island for level grinding since there was the Ember Spring and like 4-5 trainers right outside you could use VS Seeker on.

I think it was certainly a worthwhile addition, and I've wanted something similar in each remake since. Geographically speaking, I think HGSS only added that one route to the west of Cianwood and ORAS only added the Battle Resort. Sure, those each add a fun feature to the game, but the actual content and flavor of the world is hardly augmented compared to the seven (plus two) unique islands we got in FRLG.

I remember one island in particular had a Team Rocket lab off in a forested part of the island with no actual road leading up to it, just an unmarked path through the woods. I actually felt like I was infiltrating a secure facility all sneaky-like! That was probably among the most fun non-battling moments I've had in a Pokémon game, all thanks to a significant geographical addition. I want more of that new, unexpected addition in an otherwise familiar adventure.

All I can hope for now is that the Sinnoh Remakes add a significant geographical expansion to make it feel like an improvement, not just an updated wilds list and paint job.

I liked the Sevii Islands, it was an interesting addition and really made the storyline more fun. All be it time consuming, but still really fun. I really love how it connected the games together from the plot line of the original games, precluding to the 2nd generation. It made the game all the more interesting!

I was only able to access the rest of the Sevii Islands once in LeafGreen, but it was a fun addition to the game. It helped to extend the post-game storyline a lot, and it was really cool to explore the new areas, especially as a little kid. If they ever did FR/LG remakes, I really hope they still include the islands!

The islands were so random. It was neat that they were a thing but it also felt highly tacked on. I don't know, maybe that's just me.

For me, the Sevii Islands were a little boring. But, I liked how the islands looked. I think it's good that there were wild Johto Pokémon on the islands too, because most of the game is just Kanto Pokémon... ._. There was Johto music too, but I used the islands mostly for completing the Pokédex. ^.^ I caught all the Unown!

Even though I absolutely loved the Sevii Islands, Nate has a point here. They did seem tacked on, and the story of them didn't really follow anything else in the main plot. There was also Lost Cave, which at the time seemed extremely pointless, though looking back, it was a decent precursor to Turnback Cave in DPPt.
