I saw this article while browsing buzzfeed earlier, thought I'd share it here:

Basically, as the title suggests, this is a gadget which you can plug your phone into, and it turns it into a gameboy! It even has a slot for a cartridge, which is pretty neat, suggesting you can actually play the physical copy of the game, and not just downloading a rom via an emulator. The only con is that it's iPhone 6 exclusive, meaning iPhone 5s/android users (such as myself) and down will have to wait for a supportable version for your device

Hopefully, Nintendo doesn't shut it down, as it did with Super Mario 64 HD!

Looks pretty nifty, but too bad I don't buy Apple products. I think I'll stick with emulators for now until (or if) they come out with an Android version of the device.

This is pretty cool stuff, not going to lie. I have an interest in the price point, though. If it reaches above $50, I'd rather just play on my regular Gameboy Advance SP.

I would definitely just prefer the console itself, thanks. As cool as this new gadget may seem, I still don't think that this mobile gaming movement is going to result in much good and that the smartboy is just one of many pieces of the puzzle.

I'm not a huge fan, but I'm not going to turn it down if it comes out for android users. Consoles are a little more comforting for me however. I don't feel as if moving into mobile will become a good move for those who have built their entire childhoods around actual gameboys. Call me classic, but consoles have always felt more cosy for me and make me a little more less inclined to put down. Don't get me wrong, phones are great, but to an extent. I'd rather not be fixated to just one device for everything.
