Okay, for the Writing Event, we need to discuss it. Here is the Prompt: "Your team has been hunting a Legendary Pokémon for years, practically their life work. Struggle upon struggle has been overcome and finally they found the Mythical beast, but not in the best of health. What would they do?" What are your ideas for this and make sure you all are not doing the same thing. We don't want ANY plagirism. THAT IS FINAL. Remember, it has to be 500 words long, so be careful about it. Just writing 500 words for the story doesn’t sound enough for me I like to post stories and make them long with at least 2,000 I don’t know how to make a super short story like that.
It's possible to write a story with 300-500 words. Get a basic plot, and some characters, and what you want. Just make sure that it fits in the requirements.
Here is the one I made Spoiler The creature of forest and time, Together we try to find. Through jungles and redwood near and far, Through daylight, moonlight, and through the dark. That's how it's been for as long as I can remember. An endless search for the mystical creature. My family tells me it's a tale, my friends tell me it's a tale. But I'm going to prove them wrong. "Wake up! Time for breakfast!" I shouted into the tent. Caroli the Lucario could be heard snoring inside. I foraged through one of the supply bags and pulled out two metal pot lids. I skipped to the tent, an evil grin on my face. I stooped inside and slammed the lids together, the loud noise resonating across the clearing. All of the sleeping Pokémon in the tents immediately woke up, letting out growls And squawks.I spun around and barely even flinched at Gage the Gengar creeping behind me. We all swarmed to the cooking pot and ate. I went over the teams roles in my head again. Caroli was the aura tracker, trained at finding aura trails. Outland the Stoutland was the scent tracker, trained to follow faint trails. Talaria was the flier, Rhapsode the Sharpedo was the swimmer, Totara the Torracat was the light, trained to make her fire very, very bright, and Gage was the fighter. The one who would weaken it and protect the team. He also had Mean Look so it couldn't get away when they finally saw it. After we finished, we set on our way. Caroli and Outland leading, Gage behind, and the rest behind. We walked and walked like we always did, and walked, and walked, until night fell. Totara went up front, her fire bell acting as a flashlight. After awhile, Caroli and Outland halted abruptly, making us bump into them. They signalled a find. My heart raced again. Gage and I went Behind Totara and we quietly crept through the forest, Caroli guiding us. We walked into a clearing, and my heart stopped. There was Celebi, on the ground, with a giant gash on its chest. I gasped and ran into the clearing, and knelt down beside it. It whimpered and shuffled backwards, fighting to stay conscious. It stared at me with wide eyes, and I stared back. In the forest night, the Kricketot singing and the Illumise blinking, the Celebi and I stared into each other's souls. I looked around at the beautiful forest, then back at Celebi. And I understood. It wouldn't be happy with me. I couldn't separate it from this place. I silently took out a max potion, set it in front of the Celebi, and walked past my team and out of the clearing. And I never saw it again.
Wow, you made that within the first day of the Summer Scramble? That's pretty amazing, @EeveeAbby . Keep it up and we might just win this thing.
An idea popped into my head, and I opened up a word counter and wrote it. That's the fastest I've ever written something, usually takes me forever
I'm going to write about someone more selfish, because I think everyone is going to do a 'setting it free for its own good' thing. I'm going to use one of the Three Beasts, but I haven't decided which yet.
Mine I feel like taking in a slightly different direction, where instead of a team of scientists or explorers it's a madman and a couple of his buddies searching for Giratina.
Unique idea. Since it's hard to decide, I'll choose a random one. Suicune Ooh, the Giratina one is really Unique too
Spoiler: My Draft: Ya Boi's Mission Ya boi’s always been a Bug-Type trainer, ya know? I see a strong Bug-Type and I gotta just... I gotta get it, ya know what I’m sayin’? I may not be the hated boss anymore, but I still got my crew, and these numbskulls still wanna help me be the biggest, baddest, non-hated boss around... What’d I do to have such a loyal gang?... Guzma what is wrong with you?! Shut up, Plum, I ain’t crying, you’re crying! Ya boi Guzma never cries, you hear?! ...Anyways, it’s been a few months since that whole... “Rainbow Rocket” thing or whatever. The prez is doing okay, but she’s on high alert 24/7 monitoring Ultra Space and whatnot. Between working with the suits and babysitting old Hala’s grandkid though, life aint that bad, actually. I mean, I can’t complain. At least I wasn’t arrested. I still kinda miss the days when life was more... dangerous though. Po Town’s getting renovated, so I lost my crib, but at least the cops let me keep my chair and Bugunium... Where was I? Oh yeah, so, here I am, wishing for a bit more action in life again, when that scientist guy with the weird blue and blonde hair walks up to me. “Miss President has asked me to give you an assignment, yadda, yadda.” “Oh yeah?” I says. “What sort of assignment?” So the guy pushes up his glasses tryna be all mysterious-like and says; get this. There’s this big, bad old bug that's been wreaking havoc in Unova for years, and the Pres wants ME to go catch it! Pfft, well, how can ya Bug boi refuse an offer like that? So I says back to the science guy “Okay sure, lemme get my crew, and we’ll go beat this big bad bug down pronto.” And then we’re all on a plane to Unova. Ya boi is flyin’! ---- Few days later now. We touched down fine. The pres gave us further instructions. The bug we’re lookin’ for? Apparently it was last seen firin’ lasers from its back at an old lab. And it’s purple. If it’s in the area, we’ll probably see a lot of stuff on fire. Okay then. I think the crew might wanna stay behind. They’re loyal, but these numbskulls’ll just get hurt. ----- ...Plum, you sure the pres and that science guy saw this thing right? Apart from setting everything on fire, Plum, jeez. Look, this thing ain’t even shootin’ lasers right, its back is all messed up!... I think they said purple? Coulda sworn it was purple, but this thing is redder than an Incineroar’s – Yeah, yeah, fine, language, Plum, I know! Nah, I don’t think it’s gonna fight back. Plum, I ain’t beatin’ down somethin’ that’s already beaten down enough, ya hear? This bug needs some Tapu Cocoa and a Pokémon Center. Bug Types love Tapu Cocoa, Plum, what are you on about?! ----- The pres says we gotta find four more. That are actually purple. Great. Word count is 500 on the dot. Yeet.
Here's mine. 499 words, after spending a while decided which 150 words I would cut from draft one. It's hard to write this little! Spoiler: My story: Pure of Water, Pure of Heart I grew up in a village in a distant region. My mother always told me stories about the powers of legendary Pokémon, and I set out to learn as much as I possibly could about them. Recently, the Tentacool populations near my home have begun poisoning the water supply, from a freshwater river just East of the village. So my brother and I have searched for Suicune for years now, to use its power to purify the waters and prevent any more damage to our region. I have a Master Ball on hand, obtained from… let's just say it wasn't a legal transaction. But it will be worth it once my goal is achieved! I have encountered the beast before, but could never catch up to it in time. I tracked it to just North of Ecruteak City in Johto, and have been chasing its trail directly for the past two hours. I look back at my brother, Andrew, and continue forward. I see a slight sparkle in the distance. Gesturing to Andrew to follow, we rush through the forest. We eventually reach a clearing. A sudden wave of comfort comes rushing towards me, even before I see my goal. Suicune is on the ground, with its paw stuck under a tree root. I scare away some Hoothoot on my way towards the beast. I don't care, I am about to reach my target! But just as I am about to throw the Master Ball at the felled creature, Andrew decided to interrupt. “Are you sure this is what's best?” I look at him in shock. “I meant that it looks severely wounded. It isn't capable of its full strength, and may not wish to come with us in the first place. We can't put it through any more pain for our benefit.” “So we'll take it to a Pokémon center! I don't see the problem!” “Fine,” he consented, “But we set it free as soon as it's done. This Pokémon's power is needed elsewhere as well. We can't hoard it to ourselves!” I scoffed. “Of course it's needed elsewhere. But I think I’ll keep it anyway. Not going to waste a Master Ball by throwing away this opportunity!” I threw the ball before Andrew could react, picking it up as soon as it clicked. “We spent years searching for this. I intend to reap the benefits.” Not waiting for his objection, I stoically walked back to Ecruteak. I kept the beast, but I never saw my brother again. He must have taken a different flight back or something. As for me, Suicune was a useful tool far past our clean up job. I decided to capture every Tentacool in the entire region, and prevent this from happening again. Thirteen years later, there were none left. By then, I’d grown attached to Suicune, and it accompanied me for the rest of my life. I regret that it had to be this way, but the ends justify the means. Right? Also @OzoneFruit your Guzma one is hilarious! Nice!
The Guzma story is hilarious, and the Suicune one is very interesting. Here's mine. Spoiler: Death of a Devil They said that Josh had gone mad. That he was wasting my life searching for this. But they were wrong. They had to be. He'd prove them all wrong. "Tristan, is it ready?" Josh asked, gesturing to a glowing red pentagram in the middle of a pedestal. Tristan got up from where he was crouching, smearing the red on the floor. "Yup. The pachirisu blood works in these things wonderfully." "And the carcasses?" Tristan nodded, pulling five corpses of the rodent pokémon from his pockets and placing each of them at a point of the pentagram, grinning as he did so. He brought a hand, which was still covered in blood, up to his face, and licked it. "Plus, their blood is tasty." Josh nodded and stepped closer to the pentagram, beginning to say, "O Lord of Antimatter, ruler of the World of Distortion, Giratina, come to me!" The shadows along the walls of the cave grew, elongating and climbing towards the center of the cave, where the pedestal stood, coalescing in the center of the pentagram. From it, a pair of glowing red eyes emerged, and in a flash of not light, but darkness, the six-legged, six-striped, six-winged creature known as Giratina emerged. It immediately, however, collapsed onto the ground, reverting to it's Altered Forme and seemed to be barely able to move. "M-master..." It stuttered telepathically, "you h-have summoned me. I grow w-weak, and my power is waning... Please, help m-me." Josh stood there silently in shock, unable to process the information that he had just heard. Giratina... in a weakened state? Impossible. "No, no it isn't possible," he muttered to himself. But soon, he began chuckling. The chuckling grew, soon becoming full-blown laughter. "So this is it, then? I spent all this time, all these resources, and for what? For a legendary that can't even do what I want it to do to its fullest!" While Josh was ranting, Tristan backed off a bit. "I mean, I know you were completely insane before," he said, "but I guess this was just the straw that broke the Camerupt's back, huh?" Josh turned to his companion, fury evident in his eyes. "You. You are not necessary to me anymore. You're not necessary to anyone anymore. Giratina, kill him." "Y-yes, master..." Tristan's eyes widened as he turned to run, but it was far too late. Using up nearly the last of its power, Giratina used earth power to collapse the roof of the cave above Tristan, killing the man. "Heh, I suppose he deserved that," Josh said, grinning. "M-master, please..." "NO! And you know why? Because I spent my entire life looking for you, and what does it get me? NOTHING! You could just give up and die, for all I care!" "If that is what you wish, master..." Giratina used earth power again, causing the entire cave to cave in. "...you will die with me." Word Count: 486. Is it too dark?
In my opinion, too dark, but at least it sticks in the memory. I say go with it, after maybe a brief check to make sure it is what you want. No errors, enough detail, etc.
Ok here's my shot at writing this bad boi Spoiler: Dashing Embers Heard a rumor from some locals in Blackthorn about a huge fire near the Dark Cave, decided to check it out. I finished off my journal entry and went to send out my Golduck, to set up a Flash as we proceeded into the cave. For those of you who want some background information, my name is Ivan, and I was your normal kid in Ecruteak, up until I was about 7 years old. I was on my way to the farm near town to pick up some Moo-Moo Milk when a group of Tauros caught me in a stampede, I was about to meet my maker when suddenly a blast of flame scared the Tauros off, I looked up and saw him, Entei. He was basking in the sunlight and watching over the Tauros, before looking at me and running off. I have spent the last 12 years trying to find him, to have that power as my own. In the cave I kept exploring, running across way too many Wobbuffet for my liking before I saw something, a trademark clue of Entei. Singe marks next to claws strikes in the walls of the cave. he was in a fight, so he's probably suffering injuries which will make him far easier to catch!! I took off running , following the trail of singes and claws, before hearing a loud "ROAR" throughout the cave, and saw Entei fall onto the floor of the Dark Cave. I was overcome with rage as I saw a Hunter with 2 Bronzong carry Entei away with their Psychic powers. He's mine, not his mine. ENTEI IS MINE. I scream in my head as I got ready to command Golduck into battle, to attack the Bronzongs while I caught the Entei, this is gonna work like a charm I realized but then I wondered...how am I any different than the Hunter? I'm going to catch Entei and force a Legendary to do a teenager's bidding. With gritted teeth I threw out another Pokémon, my Natu "go to Entei and Teleport him away so he can heal" I said, both of my Pokémon shocked at my decision before I heard Natu's voice in my head "I'm proud of you Ivan, we'll get him next time" but she and I both knew there wouldn't be a next time. With that Natu flew in and clung her feet onto Entei's body, and Teleported the two away. I heard the Hunter's noises of confusion as I turned the corner throwing out my other Pokémon, "Now we're even Entei, but I just wanna kick this guy's ass" That 500 word limit sucks you guys, so what do ya think?
Wait, I have an idea!!!! We're all writing up seperate stories, what if a bunch of us grouped together on one single story? Like I make a Google Doc and have a bunch of us write a story, what do you guys think?
I'm definitely going to write something for this, but it's getting kind of late over here so I'm going to be finishing it tomorrow. Edit: Never mind, I just finished the rough draft faster than I thought. Spoiler “Only a fool would believe those stories.” “There was nothing in that tower.” “You can’t do it.” “Who are you and why are you talking to me?” Brendan was determined to prove to them all that they were wrong. He climbed the final flight of old, worn down stairs leading to the top of Sky Pillar. He managed to make his way further up the tower than anyone else had in living memory. And now he reached the top, where legends said that Rayquaza rested. He turned back to see his companions, May and Wally, slowly catching up to him. “What’s taking you guys so long?” He called back to them. “Not all of us can climb over rubble as quickly as you can!” May yelled back. “Seriously, sometimes I wonder if you’re even human.” “I’m… not sure… if… I can… go much further…” Wally gasped as he pulled out his inhaler. “Well, you won’t need to.” Said Brendan. “We’re here.” Brendan turned back around and headed up the last few steps, where it was waiting for them. Rayquaza, the sky high Pokémon who was said to have once calmed the raging battle between Groudon and Kyogre a long time ago. The Guardian of the skies. The object of Brendan’s quest. The massive serpentine dragon rested on the roof of the tower, coiled around massive piles of rubble. Its breathing was slow and heavy and its head was hung low. The Dragon-type Pokémon proved to be a far less impressive sight than Brendan had expected it to be. He was almost disappointed by it. “I think something’s wrong with it.” May said as she caught up to Brendan. “It looks like its hurt.” “Then I guess that will make this easier.” Brendan reached for his Pokéballs but stopped when May grabbed his arm. He turned to her and she shook her head, a pleading look in her eyes. “You can’t do this.” She said. “Yes, I can.” Brendan pulled back from her suddenly, which caused May to stumble slightly. “Ugh, okay… I’m finally here.” Wally reached the top of the staircase behind Brendan and May. He stopped and clenched his knees as he tried to catch his breath, then looked up. “Holy Miltank, it’s actually real!” Wally’s sudden shout caused Rayquaza to finally notice their presence and it stirred. The mighty sky dragon winced as it raised itself up to tower above the humans. It was an impressive sight, but also made its injuries come into much sharper focus. Brendan reached for his Pokéballs again. “Don’t do this.” May practically begged him. “Can’t you see how much pain its already in.” “I don’t have a choice.” Brendan closed his eyes as he pulled out a Pokéball and held it up in front of him. “This is the only way.” It's not quite done yet, but I think its a good start.
