Thoughts on the Battle Frontier not returning?

I was pretty disappointed when I heard that the Battle Frontier wasn't coming back. It was one of the things that actually helped me get used to trying out different strategies in competitive play. The Battle Frontier was one of the things that also spiced up Pokémon battling in general with luckbased events and different Pokémon to use.

However, if they ever did implement the Battle Frontier in the future, I would hope they used the key aspects that made the battle frontier so interesting in the 3rd and 4th gen games with updated graphics and harder battles.

 

I was disappointed, I would have loved to see the re designs but I guess not. It would also mean more to do after you go through the delta ep, which I did in like an hour or two.

There's mentions of Scott and stuff, so maybe there'll be another game with it? Who knows.

 

I was rather disappointed when I heard the Battle Frontier did not return. But on the bright side, the Battle Chateau is an easy way to farm BP for move tutors.

 

I wasn't too disappointed, by the reason for not bringing it back was awful. I believe they said because it was too difficult for players. And the Battle Maison isn't...? That was one of the worst things I've seen them say. Such a lousy reason for not bringing it back. Please don't dull down the Pokémon games.

 

I miss it with a passion, but I think that's really only because I absolutely despise the Battle Masion. The CPUs in there cheat at times, I swear!

 

I never played Emerald, so I didn't miss anything and I guess they left it out because it was Emerald exclusive and this isn't an Emerald remake.

 

I was disappointed, but it wasn't like I used it much anyway in Emerald, so it wasn't that much of a loss for me haha. I'd like to see it return in future games, though.

 

The Battle Frontier was really cool. It made me feel a true powerful trainer because...well I was there xD.
It was really dissapointing, it is a really important factor that gives Emerald an special thing that makes difference with the others :/

 

I am a bit disappointed that the Battle Resort is pretty much copy-pasted from XY, the Battle Frontier would have been awesome. I liked the different facilities and challenges that they had. I can see Nintendo possibly adding DLC for ORAS that adds it in, but I honestly wouldn't count on it. It just doesn't seem like something they would do, especially for a Pokémon game.

 

I too was disappointed it didn't make a reappearance in ORAS, but I suppose that's how it is. After all, with the Battle Maison, you could do Multi-Battles with friends, so if you were to remove it from ORAS, then ORAS would lose some of its connectivity with XY. I know it's not the best reason, but it's something.

 

I was very disappointed to say the least that the Battle Frontier didn't return. The BF was one of my favorite features of Pokémon Emerald and I wish that they would bring it back.

 

I too am really disappointed. Whether it be in Hoenn or Sinnoh, the Battle Frontier has always been one of my all time favourite features in Pokémon. It had plenty to offer and is a great way to kill some time if you have no idea on what to do next.

The Battle Maison is fine and all, but it isn't enough, especially how it's located at a place that's all about battling. It also sucks that it's rehashed, but I kind of see why Game Freak would do such a thing. Heck, even the Battle Tower returning would be good enough, but nope. I'm happy that they brought back the Frontier Brain music, though.

 

I was incredibly disappointed. In my opinion, the best Battle Frontier was definitely the one in Emerald, so the possibility of it coming back was exciting.

However, I understand why it didn't make the return--as they are Ruby and Sapphire remakes. Still would've been neat to see the Emerald Battle Frontier in 3D though, am I right?

 

When ORAS was first announced, I was super hyped because Battle Frontier... IN 3D! But sadly that wasn't the case as they put the Maison instead. I was really looking forward to exploring the Pyramid and the Battle Pike again. So dissapointed

At least they gave us move tutors in the Resort? It would have sucked if they just threw the Maison without adding anything else besides random houses on the island so I guess that's one good thing about it?

 

Honestly, the Battle Fronter's the best feature to ever come out of Pokémon. No Battle Frontier in gen five was a great dissapointment, but it just might be a reason that I won't buy OR/AS. I still might, but... If it's not in Pokémon Z, I will seriously be pissed.

 

One of the reasons that not having the Battle Frontier was a letdown is because this generation makes breeding for good Pokémon so much easier. You'd think that since you can get such good Pokémon so much easier that it would come back, but no.

Although at the same time I wasn't too dismayed by its not being included. But at the same time it's left a wonder why they would include that teaser.

 

Wait, I don't recall anywhere saying the Battle Frontier will not be returning. Sure they said no DLC iirc, but we can't honestly say for sure it isn't returning. Now I will say, I am disappointed it has not returned, but lets remember that in the original Ruby and Sapphire there was no Battle Frontier, only a battle tower, and once again the X and Y battle Maison is literally that equivalent. ORAS are ruby and sapphire remakes, not emerald remakes. You can almost say the same thing about HG SS and Fire red Leaf Green. Yes HG and SS did have a battle frontier that wasn't originally in the games, but ORAS offers Pokémon that weren't originally in the game either, plus HG and SS was still the 2D era.

 

I'm sad that it didn't return, but in Ruby and Sapphire if I remember correctly there was no mention of the Battle Frontier, rather it was all in Pokémon Emerald.
So, if we have a Emerald Remake, we'll find the Battle Frontier there.
