According to a smaller gaming magazine in their interview, they were told there would be no new Alolan forms in USUM. Meanwhile, IGN did not ask this question and or did not receive a response about it. What do you think is the truth? That the small gaming magazine actually got an answer on it, or the info everyone wants to know IGN didn't ask?
Well, if the question's been asked and answered then I don't see any reason not to believe it. I also get the feeling we would have heard about new Alolan forms by now. I guess that means that Alola is pretty much the same geographically and it's just the story that's changing things, so there are no new Alolan forms at the moment. It makes sense, but new forms would be nice
It would be rather disappointing if no new Alolan forms was the case. I would've liked to see more, since they're adding more Pokémon to the Alolan Pokédex.
On one hand, they can't have any more Alolan forms like the atrocity that is Raticate, but it also means that all those fan theories were for nothing. I suppose it makes sense, but I was hoping that in the alternate timeline, the weather/geography would be different enough to cause a few more changes. #MissingNo
I'm honestly not a huge fan of the Alolan form idea to begin with, even if some of them are pretty cool. With Alola being closest to Kanto, it makes sense that only Kanto Pokémon would have Alolan forms, but I'm just so sick of all the gen 1. I don't see why new Pokémon would just suddenly appear in the same locations either, unless new islands are added. I don't know if there are any new islands or not, I haven't been following it all that closely.
Rip Alolan Oddish line XD Although, tbh I kinda saw this coming. I think the main focus of USUM will be less of the Island geography and more on the Ultra Wormholes, which is why we got more Ultra Beasts.
I don't mind if there aren't any new alolan forms. I still hope there will be a few more new Pokémon though. Regardless though, this game is looking to surprise us big time.
I dunno, I saw something pretty official that said the opposite. Heck, it even had a Water Type Alolan Growlithe. I think it was an actual trailer.
