With the next console generation around (ie the PS4 and Xbox One), there's going to be many, many more games that's going to be released in these upcoming years. However, take a look back at the consoles & handheld video games that you've played, and the video games that came with them.

Now, thinking about that, let me ask you: What is your one favourite video game from each console that you've played, and why? And of course, this answer is only dependent on the consoles that you've played. Including the PC, if you wish, but again, choose only one that's your absolute favourite. I'll give you an example from two consoles / handhelds that I've played:

Nintendo 3DS: Kid Icarus: Uprising. The controls was confusing at first, but once you get used to it, it's really awesome to play. The humor is also pretty wonderful too; the way that they've humored some of the Nintendo games like from a quote, "those things look like little Metroids!".

Playstation 1: Tales of Phantasia. Even the the RPG RNG makes it so that you face a random encounter the majority of the time, it really is a nice game to play, and I do love the variety of characters!
There you have it! So, again, What is your one favourite video game from each console that you've played, and why?

Nintendo DS: My top 2 are New Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario 64 DS. Both games were amazing. They kindled my love for Mario, and gaming as a whole. My one favorite would have to be New Super Mario Bros., though.

Nintendo 3DS: This is a tough one. I'd probably have to say Pokémon X, Super Smash Bros. 4, or Kid Icarus: Uprising. X got me into Pokémon and has a lot of nostalgic value, SSB4 is just a great game, and Pit is one of my favorite characters in the whole gaming world. If I had to chose one, I'd choose X. So many memories.

Nintendo Gamecube: Mario Party 6. I played this a ton with family as a child, and have many fun memories of it.

Nintendo Wii: Super Mario Galaxy. ((see DS))

Nintendo Wii U: Mario Kart 8. It's a remake of childhood favorite, and the graphics and new gaming features make this game a must.

Playstation 2: Dance Dance Revolution: Supernova. If I could give you one game to describe my childhood, this would be it. I played it at summer camp, then took it home and played it every day for hours at a time.

Playstation 3: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd. This really got me back into the rhythm game realm. It's a great game with many awesome gaming mechanics and features, and an amazing song list.

    Playstation Vita: ^

Xbox 360: Skyrim. I admit, I don't play as much as I should, but there's just so much to do and so much to see, it's easily loveable.

SNES: Donkey Kong Country 2 or Super Mario World are both phenomenal platformers and I can't really decided between the two

N64: Star Fox 64. Hands down. "Do a Barrel Roll!" and "You're becoming more like your Father" are just too funny and the gameplay is phenomenal and it still holds up really well.

Gamecube: Pokémon X D: Gale of Darkness is such a good game. Seriously, there is almost nothing wrong with it. Animal Crossing is also really fun.

Wii: Probably Mario Kart Wii. I spent way too much time with this game.

WiiU: Super Smash Bros. 'nuff said.

Gameboy Advance: Advance Wars is one of my favorite games. Ever. Hands Down.

DS: Phoenix Wright is so good. Such a good series. Did I mention that is was good?

3DS: Fire Emblem Awakening is the best game known to mankind.

PS: Rampage is a really good game. I love playing as monsters and running over ancient rome.

PS2: Star Wars Battlefront 2. I bought the console to play this game.

PS4: The only game I've really played is the Last of Us remastered. Good game tho.

Xbox360: Skyrim. I never get tired of this game. So much to do, so many ways to play.

PC: Civilization III. Phenomenal game in every way. One of my childhood games def.

NES: Super Mario Bros 3 - Fun & fantastic gameplay, one of the best Mario games around. The overworlds were awesome too.

Sega Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - It was like Sonic 1, except improved mechanics, more gameplay & stages to experience, and awesome boss designs.

SNES: Super Mario World - Tied as my favorite game with Mario 64, the game has perfect gameplay, colorful graphics, fun bosses, and colored Yoshis! The Special World was a huge deal back then as well.

Game Boy Pocket: Pokémon Blue - This was the late 90's when Pokémon was at its prime, playing Pokémon back then really felt like you were an actual Pokémon trainer on an adventure! You really felt urged to catch them all.

Game Boy Color: Pokémon Crystal - It was Gold & Silver done even better! Introduction of the Battle Tower and a ton of other great stuff.

Nintendo 64: The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time - Not only my favorite N64 game, but my favorite game of all time! This game was solid in every way you can imagine. Gameplay, controls, collectable, quests, graphics, easter eggs, fun secrets, fun glitches, a ton of replay value because it was that darn addictive

GameCube: Super Smash Bros, Melee - It's like all the "missing" characters from the original Smash Bros were in this game! I loved the fighting style, it was perfect, in my opinion.

PlayStation 2: Bully - It was like GTA in teenage form. It was a deal for me at the time because at said time, I ust so happened to be of the same age of the protagonist when the game came out. The game offers great gameplay, a fantastic plot, memorable characters, and some of the best humor around.

Nintendo DS Lite: Pokémon White - Felt like a fresh beginning tot he Pokémon series! Being a fan since the inception, that says a lot. Loved the gameplay, new mechanics, and plot of that game. The graphics were great to (for DS standards).

Wii: The Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword - Fantastic gameplay, controls, graphics, excellent plot, great characters, and motion controls actually done right.

3DS (so far): - Super Smash Bros 4 - It's like playing Brawl on a handheld, except with more content!

Wii U (so far): - Super Smash Bros 4 - Game plays, looks, and feels amazing. It was done absolutely right just like every other Smash game! DLC makes it even greater!

I think that covers everything. If I missed anything, or if I need to add on in the future, I'll come edit my post.

NES: Mega Man 1-6, being very fun and challenging games to play once in a while.
SNES: Ooh, tough... Yoshi's Island is pretty special to me, with the sheer amount of time I'd spent on it throughout my entire life.
PSX: Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - my favorite of the Insomniac trilogy, and overall a really fun and colorful game.
N64: Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Donkey Kong 64 are all tied, since they're games I like for their own unique reasons; Banjo for being a cartoony and goofy series, Conker for being gross but funny, and DK64 because I'd played it a ton back in the early 2000's.
    Sega 32x: Knuckles Chaotix
    Game Gear: Tails Adventure(s)
Sega Genesis: Sonic 3 [& Knuckles]
    Gamecube: Wario World
Gameboy: Game & Watch Gallery 2 - one of the few games I'd had as long as I could remember, and one that I would often play when staying nights at my grandma's house in kindergarten.
GBA Advance: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
DS Lite: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: EoT
    3DS: Animal Crossing: New Leaf
PSP: Mega Man: Powered Up! - very fun, cute game that happens to be one of my favorites in the series; I love that you can finally play as the Robot Master/boss characters in an official game, outside of two other previous spin-offs that allowed for that as well. Tied with this game for runner-up is Daxter.
PS3: Sonic Generations - the only PS3 game I really play, and a nice, interesting one! It's a shame it's so short, though...
Wii: Kirby's Epic Yarn - my m8 knows this game is one of my guilty pleasures.
    Wii U: Pikmin 3

PlayStation2: Jak II. Love the game add the series so much, I just find it absolutely fantastic.

Game Boy Advanced: Pokémon LeafGreen. Cuz Pokeymanz!

Game Boy Color: Pokémon Pinball. This game is just tons of fun, even today when I get the chance to play it.

Wii: Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I really lack other good Wii games, but the Brawl storyline was a ton of fun.

XBox 360: Batman: Arkham Origins/Arkham City. Can't really choose between the two, they're both super fun.

Nintendo DS: Pokémon Platinum. I had the most amount of fun playing through Platinum compared to the other Gen IV and Gen V games.

Nintendo 3DS: Pokémon Omega Ruby. The only 3DS game I've put a substantial amount of time into playing, haha.
