On a bunk bed, do you prefer to sleep on the top or the bottom? Is there any particular reason why? When I was younger I always wanted to stay on the top bunk because heights made me uncomfortable. These past few years though when I've had to sleep on a bunk bed for whatever reason and somebody else already claimed the bottom bunk, I've had to take the top bunk, and I've realized how much better I like it. It just feels more private somehow.
I have a extreme fear of heights, I sometimes even panic on my own bed because I have to climb a bit to get on. So bottom for sure.
I much prefer top. Perhaps it's because I sleep in a loft bed, so it feels more familiar to me; maybe it's that, before I had my loft bed, I had to share a bed with my brother and I had the top bunk. Bottom bunks seem more cramped to me as well; the top is a lot freer and, I think, a bit more private.
Top bunk is great. I mean, thinking about it logically, how often do you normally fall out of a bed that's just on the floor? Why would that change if you're laying on the top bunk? Being close to the ceiling, I don't know, kind of makes it feel like i'm in a little nest or something? It's really comfortable. I always slept on the top bunk when I was in college. With my alarm clock across the room, needing to get down from the bunk and cross the room to turn off the alarm would assure that I would stay awake instead of going back to bed. Any time I didn't have a roommate, I would have the bottom bunk free for other things, like folding laundry and putting clothes, my bookbag, and books for the next day in a place where I could get them quickly without cluttering up the rest of the room, or a place for organizing homework in a way that I wouldn't forget to do any of it.
I honestly prefer to have a single bed, but if I had to choose, probably the bottom one because I don’t have to climb up every time I want to get something on the bed. Also, if the person on the top bunk falls on me, at least I won’t be put to shame. I’ve noticed that when I was small, people wanted the top bunk, but as I grew older, people wanted the bottom bunk.
Bottom bunk, both because the bottom is usually bigger if there is any size difference, it's easier accessibility to the rest of the room, and negative personal experience. I broke my arm once falling off the top bunk of a bunk bed I shared with my brother.
I'd go bottom as well. There's that unsteady feeling whenever you're on top bunk. Also, top bunks usually don't account for my weight.
Umm neither. I'm not a huge fan of bunk beds. I guess if I had to pick one I'd go with the bottom bunk, but I still wouldn't be completely comfortable in it. I have this really dumb fear that the top bunk will collapse on me (kinda like that one scene in Step Brothers).
Currently, lower due to parents(They won't let me have the upper bunk.) but I really wish to have the upper bunk
It's not all that dumb a fear. When I was younger my family had a really old bunk bed and one time when I was falling asleep on the bottom bunk, two of my older sisters were sitting on the top bunk and the top bunk just kinda collapsed under them. Thankfully, nobody got hurt as only one side of the bunk collapsed, and I was so little at the time that as I was sleeping with my head on the other side of the bed, my feet didn't reach the point of the bed where they would have been crushed. I think of it as a funny story, but thinking about it now if the half of the bed that had fallen had fallen on my head, I could have seriously gotten hurt.
