Which of the starters did you prefer? I like Piplup the best. You can't get too many amazing water types. :(

Turtwig! Turtwig is probably my favorite starter overall, tied with Mudkip. I just love that secondary Ground type, its one of my favorites to battle with. Also I really like turtles so what's not to love? I also thought it was pretty cool tat he's based on the legend of a tortoise carrying the world on its back. I think it's pretty cool that it looks like its lugging a landmass around.

Turtwig, he is the only grass starter I really like. I think Snivy looks cool but I felt he wasn't very useful. Turtwig could take hits and get powerful moves like Earth Quake and Wood Hammer When he evolved.

I really like turtwig too. It was my first starter of all Pokémon games and I just love it! ^^

Turtwig ftw. I absolutely despise infernapes and i really don't like empoleons either. That and turtwig is an awesome cute little turtle, whats not to love about him

I think Empoleon's typing is pretty good really. I don't really stick to my starters anymore, but I picked Piplup and probably would again.

I like Piplup the best out of the 3. I think it's very cute and I love its evolutions designs.

In my opinion, Chimchar looks the coolest Pokémon to have, however I enjoyed using Turtwig more than Chimchar. Although the final evolution of Chimchar, Infernape, also had a very helpful fire/fighting type, Torterra was a lot more fun to use (I never used him in competitive battling), so Turtwig's evolutions were better IMO.

I like Piplup because of the design, Chimchar because of the fire type, and Turtwig because it's nice to use for the adventure. So in the end I can't decide.

Turtwig, but this is all from a design standpoint. I hate monkeys and am really neutral towards Piplup and all its forms, but Turtwigs line looks pretty cool, last form reminds me of a huge badass dinosaur.

I like monkeys and I like fire types. xD And a flaming monkey was even cooler. It was my first starter in that generation. I didn't really care for the fact that Infernape is a Fire/Fighting type. (As the matter of fact, my infernape actually really sucks in battle)

I've always liked Piplup the best, it was cool, my first Gen 4 starter and wasn't annoying when learning new moves.

    Always Turtwig.

I don't like Fire-type starters (with the exception of Charmander) and the Water-types are a little boring too me now (although Oshawott is awesome)

Chimchar because fire. Also, I think Chimchar's a really adorable lil monkey and I think Infernape's design is pretty badass.

I like Turtwig, who I picked when I played Pokémon for the first time ever, and Piplup, who I've picked ever since!

I first picked Chimchar for my first play through but after using all three starters I think I like Turtwig the best for design and it's decent in a battle, at least against the in game trainers. XD

Piplup because Empoleon's typing is really unique, and because it's just adorable!

I like Chimchar the most. I like its typing (even if it already happened Gen. III), HA, and both its base form and final evo. (Monferno was OK; nothing too special, though.) Not a huge fan of Piplup but love Empoleon; likewise, I'm not a huge fan of Torterra but love Turtwig <3

I remember before I was a Fire-Type trainer, I was Water. Piplup, along with Mudkip, was such a fantastic starter, and definitely the one I went with in the games!
