Episode 6 is out, featuring the return of Tommy and John from the first episode! Also, Allister is there. How he and Bea are both Gym Leaders in the same continuity, I have no idea.
Allister is bby and precious, first of all. There was also something very subtle (and insignificant, but I find it interesting) in this episode- I heard the sound move from the left earbud to the right earbud when Tommy was chased by the ghost Pokémon. I like small details like that. I’m a bit sad this will be ending soon. I loved this series for adding on to the characters’ personalities and backstories, and the animation style is beautiful. I would’ve loved to see an episode centered around each character though, but for what we have, I’m grateful.
I absolutely love Allister. He's so adorable. Plus Ghost Pokémon are my +1 favorite type. The series is really well animated too. I've enjoyed every episode so far. It's nice to be able to see the characters interact with others and be all linked to Rose and the Champion in some way or another.
The final episode just dropped (I could have sworn they originally announced that there would be twelve episodes), wrapping up the storyline introduced all the way in episode 1.
That was a great closer, the animation was flashy for the battle and it felt great! I really hope they either keep going with these or do other mini-series with the same studio/writers.
My heart couldn’t handle this episode... between babey Allister just stuttering on the interview, Piers being my favorite being in existence, and John finally living out his dream of meeting Leon just made me so happy. That combined with the stunning animation of the Corviknight flying through the sky and the battle between Leon and Raihan... this episode was absolutely amazing and I’m sad to see the series go.
This was a real treat. I never expected this series to have such good writing. This is what it means to have half way decent writers on Pokémon. I want more of this stuff. Also, I'm sure that the last battle between Leon and Raihan was a safety violation given how much they destroyed everything in the stadium.
@BZRich64 Dunno if anyone corrected you yet but it's confirmed that there are gyms for each type in Galar. Only the top 8 (they all have competitions to see who is the strongest gymleader/if the leaders are starting to slack off) are in the competition. The lower 8 that aren't seen are considered a 'little cup' while you participate in the big event. *you can buy the other gyms' uniforms, which prove they exist in both versions- they're just in the little cup* In regards to the gym placement, the gyms may very well be a 'rental gym' set up by Rose- whoever in the area wins the big cup gets the gym and can set it up as they want for the big competition. The little cup gyms may have smaller rental gyms somewhere else.
Guess what? WE'RE GETTING ANOTHER EPISODE! It's apparently been confirmed that a new episode of Twilight Wings will be coming out on November 5th! Who else is excited for this!
Pokémon Twilight Wings-The Gathering of Stars is out now. This special follows ex-champion Leon as he recruits Galar's strongest trainers for the Galarian Star Tournament.
And now my obligatory analysis I watched the Japanese version first a few weeks ago (didn’t understand a word of it though) and forgot this would come out in English today, haha. I was happy to see everyone (even the sword and shield guys and Raihan) one more time. I smiled when I saw bby Allister without his mask on and Tommy in the crowd at the match with Leon.
