Twitch Plays Pokemon

I don't really like it all that much honestly. I actually just watched I think 5 minutes, and all that happened was turning the PC in the Pokécenter on and off again... For 5 minutes... Wasn't really all that exciting to watch.

 

I've heard about it, but haven't watched any of it. Been trying to pop in, but the video would never load. It's....kind of surprising they've made it that far.

 

I find this hilarious. It so funny to see 80,000 people try and play Pokémon all at the same time. They even released their starter for crying out loud.

 

80,000? o.o On start day there were like 12k. And it was still pretty painful to watch lol. They spend half the time going into the start menu. And the other half just bumping into walls. I leave the stream running in the bg sometimes and come back to find that surprisingly they've gotten somewhere.

Anyone watch the Lt. Surge match? I skipped some parts of it and got back to find them just repeatedly spamming the SS ticket in their inventory. XD

I've been watching it on and off. Sometimes it's amusing to watch. Other times I get annoyed when they spam the START button. Sometimes I even chime in and say a couple of commands. Right now they're lost in Lavender town lol.

 

This actually looks hilarious from just the comments and the links Kuroida just posted. Been hearing about it a lot, will have to try to watch it. Edit: They made it to Lavender Town and lost to a Gastly, now we can't get out of the Pokédex -.-

 

Like people have already said, it's funny sometimes and other times it's annoying haha It's funny to watch their progress and fun to watch for a few minutes but it's hard for me to sit and watch it for long xD

Something like this would probably be more fun to watch (for long period of time) if only like 5-10 people where playing xD

 

Yeah... The best part: You know there are people playing this, and they're all like: GODDAMNIT NO I DON'T WANT TO GO THERE I WANT TO GO THE OTHER WAY YOU STUPID!!!

I dunno, I find this extremely annoying. With a lot games. And being a competitive gamer, i couldn't do this. I would explode. This just looks stupid.

Yeah, they don't seem to be getting out of Lavender Town and the Ghost Tower anytime soon. Meanwhile in Pokémon Crystal, they are doing amazing progress now, they are at 7 badges and got a Pidgeotto, Ariados, Koffing, Meganium, Ekans, and some other poke. Going after the Radio Tower now and deciding for the ice type move poke(ice type or suicune). Crystal play is better imo cause it's not lagging as much and less people to be trolls.

 

Wow. I can't tell if we've gotten a lot better or if something in the programming was tweaked. We can actually walk in one direction now. And the start menu only pops up every few seconds instead of every millisecond.

 

I actually made an account on Twitch just to participate and the chat drops out every time I post, and for longer than the last time.
You know that line in movies where they say something like "It's like a car crash, I want to look away but I can't." They need to change that to "It's like Twitch Play Pokémon, I want to look away but I can't."

They actually caught Zapdos.

But there's another Twitch stream with an RNG playing Crystal and it already has 7 badges. 8D

 

Concept is cool, but I find it too hard to keep watching for a long period of time. Still really impressed how far they've gotten and the fact they caught Zapdos haha

I heard about this. Haven't watched the stream, but I've heard stories about the chat for it crashing and such. And all the memes that spun out of it. Countless memes, everywhere. What I'd like to know, though, was this done simply for fun or is it a project of some kind? Sadly I'm not very informed about thing.

 

They call it a "social project" for all we know they could have done it on a whim that went way overboard lol
