When you are drawing there is a variety of pens you can use. So there are many pens that traditional artists like to use. Some people prefer to line with just a ball point pen, gel or normal ink (I would suggest gel since it is a thicker black ink without purple hues), a thin tip pen meant for lining, a brush tip pen, markers, etc! There are so many choices, but what do you use?
I tend to use thin felt tips for line art, differing from 1mm to about 4mm. I've tried using a brush-tipped felt pen, but they're a lot harder to use than ordinary felt tips so I prefer to use what's easiest. I haven't really experimented with too many types of pens, though.
When I used to do lineart I used to love Sakura Micron fine point pens. They were so good to use hhh.
Because I'm cheap and its what I used in the five minutes I had art class, I use a Sakura Gelly Roll 06. Should probably upgrade sometime soon. BUT I'M LAZY AND CHEAP!
I used to use this pen a lot! Sadly their ink flow likes to stop a lot even though it hasn't run out so I stopped using them I just use regular gel pens and felt tips now.
I don't know much about lining, but Sakura Micron are really good. My aunt and uncle gave my 10 year old sister Sakura Microns, but I steal them from time to time
I haven't done much traditional art lately, but I used to make ink paintings and use a fountain pen for lining and textures. I got a nice scar across my hand when I accidentally cut myself with it when reaching over for the ink bottle and the tip scraped my hand, but it's mostly faded now. Other than that, I usually used fine tip Sharpies.
I use the "Sakura manga" set of lineart pens! There's 4 or 5 different sizes but they're all fine point except 1 brush. Very handy! I also love my Sakura gelly roll white pen for highlights!
Skittle is kinda right because I use Micron pens, and I think they said Sakura before they faded really hard. I tend to use the largest pen a lot, and the smallest one for things like mouths and the hearts in the eyes. im sorry 3 i never use you
You're all so fancy with your pen sets! I want to have a place where I can make my own art studio one day so I can hoard stuff like this get more professional art supplies.
