With some 18 types available to us now for use, we all have our favourites and least favourites, those we use the most and those we use the least. Question is, are there any you just forget?

Whether it's due to it being a least favourite, just being boring or even being down to just never having it cross your mind, it's not that far a stretch to assume some of us just forget about one type or another.

And for me that type is fighting. The type itself isn't actually bad: on the contrary it's useful in several senses with some crazy powerful moves in its arsenal and a beefy defensive typing, but I just find it boring and unappealing. I rarely use fighting mons, heck my teams are lucky to have a fighting type move within them.

There are a few types that I tend to forget exist. I just never use them, none of the Pokémon that belong to those types appeal to me unless they have a second type that I like. Those types are rock, bug and poison. I've never used a pure poison, bug or rock Pokémon in my entire life. xD

    What is fairy type even?

You see, I do not have a 3DS, or even a DS, or any modern gaming devices really.
    thanks parents
So fairy type is just... what. What is fairy type, even?
Then there's some other types, rock/ground types are all the same in my eyes, for some reason(maybe because rocks come from the ground...)

Well mweep, Fairy types were pretty much the answer to Dragon and Dark types. Up until Generation 6, both types only had 2 weaknesses (Dragon: Ice and Dragon; Dark: Fighting and Bug, for some reason).

Fairy-type Pokémon are weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, strong against Fighting, Dark, and Dragon, and last but not least, resistant to Fire, Fighting, and Dark.

I hope that cleared your confusion.

I usually don't even bother looking at Ice types. I don't like the fact that it's weak to Fire which happens to be everyone's favorite type :P I also don't find the need to get a Pokémon with Ice STAB. There are other Pokémon out there who have better coverage and special attack.

So yeah, I don't care about Ice types other than Kyurem.

Objection! Fire isn't my favourite type :P

I tend to forget Ghost, Psychic, Dark, Poison and Dragon because those are the types I never use. I just don't like them (even though Crunch is still one of my favourite moves around, but non-Dark Pokémon can learn that move too).
I forget about Ice and Fairy too, but not because I don't like them. I just never use them.
(I'm someone who always creates a team with her starter Pokémon and five Pokémon in that same Exp group that can be found in the first few Routes.)

I tend to forget about Flying-types, a lot. And it's odd, because the must-have HM up until the end of ORAS is Fly, which can be taught to almost every Flying-type, but I find myself either too lazy to go catch a Flying-type if I don't have one and my team's nearly sorted, or too obsessive-compulsive to travel between towns with Fly just in case I missed an item. I also tend to forget which Pokémon that have wings are Flying and which aren't, which leads to some bad attack decisions.

I tend to forget that Fighting type is actually a thing. Maybe because I don't see many pure Fighting types around, or because I usually have a counter to them. I've been playing Pokémon for so long, often Pokémon types become less of what they actually are and more of "oh, that type's weak to my x or y". Oops.

I hardly give a second thought to Bugs. Granted, they're more useful now than they were waaay back in the day (when the most useful Bug-type was Jolteon, and high-five if you know what I mean), but I still don't use them often. I usually pick up an Ariados for flavor in Johto games, but I don't think I've ever actually taken a bug through the E4 or maybe even used one in Showdown outside of randoms.

Other than that, I incorporate a pretty even spread of the other 17 with just a few biases. I even use Fairy more than Bug.

I also often forget that ice is actually not super-effective against water, which breaks my logic a little bit. Except for, uhh, dry-freeze or whatever that was?

I forget Fairy types, it's just that its a whole new experience to me.
Its a good thing is because its purpose was to rekt dragons, which I simply cannot fathom.

I would love to forget fairy type, but unfortunately that is not exactly possible due to its influence in the metagame. If I'm gonna forget anything it'd probably be...
in a non-competitive context rock, as it is so close to ground. competitively, I will often forget poison or grass. My mind is most often in the competitive mindset

It's too hard for me to forget a typing considering that everything has a counter to everything.

With that being said, though, forgetting a specific Pokémon's type is a thing for me. XD

I legit have no idea what is resistant or weak to bug types, and what the bug typing resists. That's how much I don't remember that Bugs exist.
