I was told I should introduce myself here \o/ So hi! My name is Rose, I'm an old lady, and I am a freelance illustrator who is passionate about cute things (and Pokémon )! Nice to meet you all \o/!! And since I saw other people showing some of their artwork, here's a piece I did a couple months back that I'm proud of!
Welcome to Lake Valor! May I just say, that is some fantastic artwork! Looks like official Pokémon art, tbh. I'm glad to see you've already found our Discord server, which is awesome . Hope you enjoy your stay here! Let me or another staff member know if you have any questions!
Welcome here Rose!! I hope you'll enjoy your stay <3 If you need help, my PMs should be open! Also that art style omg I'm in love!! I hope you'll post your art here in the Art Corner! Here are two links I post in every introduction thread: https://lakevalor.net/help/bb-codes https://lakevalor.net/help/smilies Btw, I'm kinda curious about how you're doing as a freelance artist… (My wish is to live off my art too) Do you have any… tips? Experiences?
Helloww and welcome here! ^w^ 'Hope you're gonna enjoy being a member here ^w^ This artwork is just amazing (The mimikyu is so cutee <3)
Hiii! Welcome to forum! I hope you enjoy your stay here and have lots of fun! Also that art looks so cool....damn. great job
Oooo, it's a lot of hard work but for me, it's going great so far! I've been freelancing more seriously for only a few years now, but only just started doing it full-time in August! As for tips/experiences... I have a lot of thoughts I could share. xD But I'll try to keep it limited here, and maybe elaborate more on discord! Some things I think you should do to prepare for full time freelancing: Find your niche and build a portfolio with that as the main focus Build a fanbase/clientbase and gain following on social media/forge connections. Connections/networking is crucial. Get involved in art communities. Promote yourself and advertise. Constantly keep an eye out and pursue those who are looking to hire artists for work you feel you could give a quality service. Make your prices a livable wage. Account for how many hours you'll be ideally working a week, and price your art in a way that you can give yourself a fair weekly/monthly/etc. wage. (see: don't charge $10 for something that takes 2 hours, etc.) Do NOT underprice yourself to undercut other artists. Just don't. It not only devalues you, but it devalues every other artist out there trying to do the same thing. Just because some other person is giving away their art, or selling it for next to nothing, does not mean you need to, and does not say anything about your own artistic worth. oops. I've already said more than I meant to blabber on with. if you want to chat more about it, feel free to ping me on the discord!! haha also, thank you everybody for the warm welcomes!! so sweet of all of you <3
Hey there, welcome to LV That art looks really good! I also like your username haha. I hope you have a great time, and if you have any questions you can always ask them
Welcome to LV, Rose. Others have already said it, but your art looks amazing, and I hope to see more of it in the future. Hope you'll enjoy your stay.
Welcome to LV! Your art is really nice. Definitely some really helpful tips as well. How long have you been doing art?
Hello and welcome to the Lake! I thought I saw you on Discord and hope that you have a great time while you are here.
Hello @rosenoodle! Haven’t seen you around discord yet (perhaps because I just recovered my password two days ago lol) but I’m really excited to see more of your artwork! LV has a pretty active art community all around, and we even have a market for artwork if you’d like to participate in that!
Top of the evenin' to you, Rose. The name's Mist, Moonstruck-Mist. Please do enjoy your time here on Lake Valor. A great community, great people! It'll all be worth it. I hope you enjoy your time here, and it's great to make your acquaintance. Good luck.
Hi Rose, big welcome to LV! Man that is some gorgeous art....I would love to see you maintain an art gallery here, would be great to see more of your works. So soft and beautiful, exactly the type of art style I'd like. <3 As a fellow artist, I welcome you with open arms! For future reference if you'd like to quote multiple people at once, you can click on the + Quote button to add it to your list of quotes. From there you can scroll down to the reply box and hit 'Insert Quotes' to reply to them all at once. Merged your multi post for you, but it's something to keep in mind for the future. =) Enjoy your time here!
