So, there are people out there who will unbox figurines and unpackage limited edition stuff as soon as they get it. However, some people believe this ruins these. So, what do you believe? Do you believe things should be taken out of their box or do you think that you should keep them around to sell them later and turn a profit as they become valuable?

Personally, I hoard stuff, so I could never part with any of my stuff. Amiibos, figurines, Lootcrate limited cover comics. All of them I take out of their packaging because I want to enjoy them. I think that if you aren't going to enjoy it, what is the point in buying it. So what if it collects dust, it's still cool to look at and I don't think that looking at it from behind plastic is worth it.

    Great topic.

I've always debated that myself. My family often buys two of stuff like this. One that stays in the packaging and one that can go out (usually for toys that we wanted to play with even though they would be popular. We have some Dale Hart Jr. cars at home in the original packaging). If Nintendo releases every Pokémon as Amiibos, I will definitely keep them in the original packaging.

    I will have them all.

I'm an amiibo collector, so I have faced this struggle before, haha. I kept all my figures boxed for a long time, in hopes of selling them, but eventually I just stopped and enjoyed playing with them. If your goal with the figurines is just to collect, then keep them in the box. If you want the figure to play with, unbox it. I understand both sides.

99.9% of everything I buy, I utilize in some way. If I could afford to be a collector in some fashion, I might be; however, that doesn't mean items wouldn't go unboxed. A very good example that you can both use and collect would be Amiibos. Even if I did have extra money, it'd be hard for me to collect things that can't be used in some way.

I like unboxing things, I usually don't buy things if I'm not going to use it some way in the future. I just don't see the point of being nit-picky over a box and keeping the merchandise in a box. I think the ruins the whole purpose of buying something. I'm in it for the actual things, whether it "ruins it" or not.

I don't think I've ever kept something I bought boxed up. I bought it for a reason, I'm obviously gonna utilize to the best of my ability. :P
I guess I can understand why people don't like opening them, but not everything you buy is gonna be worth a profit in the future, if that's your goal.
