What sorts of video games do you feel that are underrated, and why? Would you recommend them to others? What are your experiences with those games? Discuss!

For example, the F-Zero series hadn't gotten as much attention as it should have, so I'd say it was pretty underrated. Due to that, Nintendo had to cancel making these games. :( Wish this wasn't the case, though, because personally, I'm a huge fan of it. If people gave it a shot, I'm sure they would've liked it, too. Aside from that, Rayman is also pretty underrated.

Rune Factory and especially Rune Factory 4. Amazing games, yet so underrated because they weren't promoted at all by Nintendo. I know so many people who like games such as Fire Emblem would love Rune Factory. And whilst it's not for everyone, it could sell way better if it got promoted more by Nintendo. So sad.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Radiant Historia (Look it up). Amazing game in nearly all its aspects, sadly it never got enough attention to be relevant to the industry.

You know, when people call a game overrated because of the critics praising it, but the fandom seem to hate it.
Super Mario Galaxy 2, is by FAR the one I see that gets this treatment. Seriously- It is in NO way overrated. All I see for it is endless streams of complaints. I get it, it's not groundbreaking or extremely innovative. But does that make it a bad game? Not in the slightest! Let me list several great or popular games that aren't groundbreaking or 'genre-altering' or whatever people call it in any way:
    Sonic Adventure 2
    Zelda: Twilight Princess
A lot of Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy games
Seriously though, Galaxy 2 is considered 'awful' because it's not as original as many games? Its gameplay is on par with the first one, as are its OST (Which could even be argued as better) and visuals. Not to mention that the level design was still creative.
Fire Emblem Awakening gets this as well. I could just say 'Endgame', but since that guy's the biggest troll on GameFAQs, that'd be too obvious-Simply put, people harp on about how the game had 'boring map designs' and 'no mission objectives'- Okay, fair enough. But the OTHER complaints, like it being 'too casual' for having the option to disable permadeath, are just ridiculous. Seriously, trying to make the series more accessible is now a BAD thing, even when permadeath is still an option? That's just the genwunner equivalents being hipsters. The worst part is how they seem to hate anyone who started with Awakening for being 'new' (I've seen terms like 'Awakeningfag' from hipsters too many times), even though 95% of them started with FE7-11, which makes them blatant hypocrites.
So, share your overhated games here!
