So I'm just curious; we're approaching the summer movie season, and in addition to that, there look to be many other movies coming in the next few years that're being planned now.

So what're you looking forward to?

    For my part:

Man of Steel. WB and DC have been trying so hard to keep up with Marvel. They pulled ahead when Batman Begins came out, and 2008 was a rather competitive year. Marvel had Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, WB/DC had The Dark Knight, which -some would argue due in large part to Heath Ledger's death- stole the year. Since then however, Marvel's dominated. The rush of Avengers films drowned out The Dark Knight Rises, and Green Lantern tanked completely. At this point, DC's already announced a Justice League movie for 2015, but right now their non-Batman hopes seem to be riding entirely on Superman.

Thor: Dark World. Christopher Eccleston as Malekith? Yesplz. In more detail, Thor's really my favorite of the Avengers buildup films. It balanced humor with seriousness very well, the movie interpretation of Asgard turned out great, and the characters worked brilliantly. I'm hoping the sequel can hold up.

Ant-Man. Yes, they're making an Ant Man movie. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug & The Hobbit: There and Back Again. I liked the first Hobbit movie, though I do feel it dragged on, what with its three-four endings and all.. High hopes for the sequels, and I love how they've been building up Smaug.

Transformers 4. Yes, it's Michael Bay. At the same time though, we're getting Mark Wahlberg as the lead male actor instead of Shia "nonononomuhcarnono" LaBoeuf. Also, early photos/designs look promising. Not expecting GREAT things, but my fingers are crossed.

So, what other movies are you all looking forward to?

I'm also looking forward to Thor, Antman, and the Hobbit movies. I didn't even know there was gonna be a new Transformers.
What I'm really looking forward to is Monsters Inc University

I might see that one. I dunno. For me, Monsters Inc. isn't on the same level as the Toy Story movies, Finding Nemo, and Up.

Yes, this. I'm hoping to go to Disneyland sometime later this year and I think this movie will put me in the Disney mood.

I'm looking forward to "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" coming out in August. I read a couple of the books a few years back when I was reading a lot to get past a certain time period of my life. I feel like they were rather enjoyable books and I hope the movie does them justice.

I was also really looking forward to The Great Gatsby which I enjoyed a fair amount. I'm hard to please when it comes to movies so I was happy to have been satisfied with that one.

The only movie that I'm looking forward to is Man of Steel. In my opinion, the movies that are currently released seem better than the upcoming films (Star Trek, Fast 6, Iron Man 3, Great Gatsby). I thought the Hobbit was good, but it didn't appeal to me enough that I want to watch the next film.

...Yeah, when you put it that way it does seem like we've gotten our "Summer Movie Season" a bit early.

Actually looking through the summer movie listings...

Will see: Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, RIPD, The Wolverine

Might see: Monsters University, Lone Ranger (I'm now wary of any movie that features Johnny Depp in funny makeup acting silly.)

Screw that: White House Down, World War Z

I actually went to see World War Z this weekend, it was pretty good. It wasn't great though. I payed half price for the ticket, and I guess I might have regretted spending money on it if I had payed full price (Or if I had gone on my own, instead of accompanied.) I'd give a, uh, 3.7/5.

Basically, it's a zombie movie. The world is messed up, zombies everywhere, and they need to find a solution. Then they kind of do. The movie keeps you on the edge, but it isn't anything mind blowing.

Pacific Rim looks like it has potential in both directions. The concept is cool enough on it's own. I like me some giant robots (that aren't damn Transformers), add giant sea monsters to that and well you've got some ingredients to work with don'tcha? Probably won't see it until it gets leaked online though.

I'm looking forward to a spin-off of the movie "X-Men origins: Wolverine". It's starring my favorite, Deadpool. THERE SHALL BE FOURTH-WALL BREAKING.

Man of Steel was a pretty good movie. A lot of the critics and other people complained too much about this epic, dramatic film, and it should have received more praise. The next movie that I'm going to watch is the Wolverine. Can't wait.

    EATIN' MA WORDS HERE.

Saw White House Down. Holy crap that movie was hilarious. So over the top (if you ever wanna see Obama lean out the passenger window of the presidential limo and fire a rocket launcher...) and full of ham-handed political jabbing that I'd have hated it if Emmerich took himself half as seriously the way Michael Bay does. The fact is; the movie itself seemed aware that it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek (the hacker terrorist who once did jailtime for attempting to unleash an anti-Apple software virus JUST HAPPENED to look like kinda like Bill Gates?), and that saved it.
