    WHAT IS VALOR BATTLE?

    Valor Battle is LV's very own interactive posting based game focused around battling, using Pokémon that you've caught around LV. Each battle is between two users, with one Judge. The Judge decides who goes first and announces the winner of the match.

    When you want to host your own battle, post in our Find A Battle thread and look for replies from other users interested in battling. Once they've replied, create your battle thread. A Judge will approve it shortly and start the match, tagging you both. You will both be asked to submit your Pokémon to the Judge in secret via private message. Once you've both sent your Pokémon via PM, the Judge will send them both out and then toss a coin; Heads for User 1 and Tails for User 2. The user who wins the coin toss starts off the battle and goes into the first move.

    To use a Pokémon in battle it must be selected as your Buddy Pokémon. It must be selected after the Judge has sent out your Pokémon you PM'd. Switching Buddies for battles is encouraged to gain the advantage of surprise!

    HOW DO I BATTLE?

    Once the Judge has sent out your Pokémon, the user who won the coin toss will make their move, and then User 2 will make their move. For example:
    And so forth, until one of the Pokémon runs out of HP. Once a Pokémon has run out of health points (HP), the match is over and the winner is declared. In each battle you may (currently) only use one Pokémon.

    You may also forfeit a battle if necessary (such as if your Pokémon is unable to attack).

    HOW MUCH HEALTH POINTS (HP) DO MY POKÉMON HAVE?

    Regular Pokémon have 22 HP.
    Legendary Pokémon have 30 HP.

    HOW DO MOVES WORK?

    Each type of Pokémon have three set moves that each do a set amount of damage and have a certain amount of uses (PP). To unlock stronger moves, you need to use higher levelled Pokémon. Scroll down for a list of moves and how much power they do!

    Super Effective moves do an extra 2 damage. For example, an Electric type Thunderbolt move that does 4 damage would do 6 damage against a Mudkip, a Water type. Moves that are Super Effective against both typings do 4 extra damage. Not very effective moves do 1 less damage. Moves that are double resisted do 2 less damage. Moves that have no effect on certain types (Ghost on Normal) do 0 damage, no matter what their base power is.

    Click here for a type effectiveness list if you're confused about how types work.

    CAN I USE ITEMS?

    Yes, but note that it is 100% optional. Items are there to add a bit of spice and flavour to the game. You must own a Pokémon Treasure to activate an item in battle. Click here for a full list of Pokémon Treasures and how to obtain them.

    As you can see, each individual Treasure has a star rating. These determine what your item will do when you use it in battle. Please note that when using an item in battle, you cannot use a move on that same turn. Be sure to declare which treasure you're using in battle (you must own it, of course!).
    You can only use one item per battle!

    WHO ARE THE JUDGES?

    These are the official Valor Battle Judges.

    @Achromatic
    @Cadbberry
    @SkittleBox
    @karatekid770
    @Vigilance
    @UnstoppableGamer
    @TheIllusionFox

    Let them know if you need any help or need your battle approved!

    WHAT DO I GET FOR WINNING A BATTLE?

    5 Battle Points which may be used to purchase items from the special Battle Store in LV's Shop at a discounted price. For participating in a battle, you gain 1 Battle Point.

    The Battle Store may also feature rare and unique items in the future, so rack up those Battle Points!
