I've got way too many story ideas in my head. Some of which can be translated into possible RP Groups or sessions! I'm not crazy enough to start setting all of them up, and I dont want to flood the RP Institute with just ideas and interest checks, so I'll be doing it here! If enough people are interested it might actually come to fruition. Also, if anyone else wants to try and host these ideas themselves, just ask me for permission! Comments on this thread are open. Feel free to react to any of the ideas I have.
IDEA 1 TERA HUNTERS Plot Synopsis: You are a student at Fruta Academy, and it is almost time for the annual Treasure Hunt. This time, things are slightly different. As Director Clavell sees the school body off to Paldea, he warns about the various Tera Raid Dens littered across the region. Something strange is going on with them, and he fears that they are too dangerous for any student to investigate. But you were never one for rules. After finding other students who are curious as to the origins of the Tera Raid Dens, you make a group dedicated to exploring and discovering the secrets of the Dens. RP Style: This is a dungeon exploring RP. There will be battles, but no stats. Battles and their effects will be done at the discretion of the DM to make a better story. Character: Your character is a student at Fruta Academy in Paldea. They can be of any age, be from any house, with any Pokémon, and from any background BUT they are not a Champion-Ranked Trainer. They need to have at least one Pokémon that isn't a legendary or mythical and they must have a desire to explore the Tera Raid Dungeons. Notes: - Fruta Academy is the name of Naranja/Uva Academy in this group. Naranja and Uva are instead houses inside of the academy (think Harry Potter). - There is no major distinction between Naranja and Uva aside from their different uniforms (not test of characters here) - The main plot of SV is still happening as the RP progresses. Your character will not replace Juliana/Florian (the SV Protags) - The Tera Raid Dens have more exploring and branching paths, but not to the degree of the Max Raid Dens in the Crown Tundra. - Terastalized Pokémon can be captured and added to the teams here - The true secret of the Tera Raid dens will be decided on once the Indigo Disk DLC comes out and the knowledge of what that holds becomes more readily available (NO SPOILERS)
Idea 2 CONTEST CIRCUIT PLUS Plot Synopsis Everyone knows about the Pokémon League. The near-worldwide sporting event where challengers collect eight gym badges then compete in a tournament to become League Champion and possibly become the Regional Champion. But what if the Pokémon World prioritized another aspect of Pokémon instead? Your character is a newly minted Pokémon Coordinator, who is competing in the Contest Circuit Plus. With eight main halls, and the ultimate contest up ahead, does your trainer have what it takes to be a star? RP Style This RP will focus on vivid descriptions and storytelling to capture the essence of Pokémon Contests. Contests will be done similarly to the Anime, with some aspects of the Game Contests grading system. Battles will be done anime style as well. Character Your character is a new trainer who has decided to compete in the Contest Circuit Plus. They can be of any age, gender, or home region but must all start with one Pokémon. Notes - Im not yet sure if this is a completely different universe from the main one, a new region whos focus is only on Pokémon contests, or as a new version of contests in an already existing region - The contest halls will act similarly to a gym in that you have to impress and defeat the 'gym leader' but also like the game contest where you are competing with 3 other trainers each time you do so. - More details will be added after this gets a bit more thought.
I like the contest idea--if it would help you flesh out your version of contests, I could share how I anime-ified the game contests' rules (since battling in contests has always felt weird to me)
@NyxieRina First is the parade of coordinators, where each coordinator-Pokémon pair is introduced. The Contest itself mainly follows OG rules: --The Visual competition has coordinators dressing up their Pokémon with up to five accessories --The Dance competition has each Pokémon dance to a song of the coordinator's choice (DDR, Pop n' Music, Samba de Amigo, and the like could easily fill in the songs) --The main attraction for any Contest, the Appeal competition is arguably one of the hardest parts a coordinator has to prepare for. Unlike the games, move type isn't quite so emphasized, so it is perfectly fine to string together different types of moves. You will earn more hearts and boost the excitement meter if you do use moves with matching types, however. Every move is worth a certain number of hearts. If the contest involves a Double Performance, the heart value of the two Pokémon's moves are added together. The audience's excitement can give the coordinator extra hearts, with lots of hearts if they max out the excitement meter. You can still bore the audience and the judges by using the same move twice in a row. Jamming is scaled back in my re-imagined Contests. You can't lose hearts, but the Pokémon can still get nervous, and on rare occasions, refuse to perform. Mega Evolution is considered a powerful appeal, so many coordinators with a Mega Evolve-able Pokémon and an awakened Heart Song choose to save it for a big finish on their fifth and final appeal, or use it when the excitement meter is about to max out. The Mega Evolution itself counts as an appeal, but if there are still appeals remaining in the competition, the Mega Evolved Pokémon has access to special moves called Spectacular Talents, which will always excite the audience and earn a lot of hearts. The coordinator that earns the most hearts over five rounds, wins.
Facinating! I forgot that there were some extra stuff in the sinnoh contests. Im more familiar with the Hoenn style. Ill keep this in mind in case I want to do something more with it

IDEA 3 THE QUEST OF ALPH Plot Synopsis After a sudden and heavy rainstorm hits Johto, several wandering trainers take shelter within the Ruin of Alph. Stuck inside, a trainer suggests that they all play some Dungeons and Dragonites, when everything goes wrong. The reality warping Pokémon, Unown, heard the fictional adventure going on, and decided to make it *real*. Now you and your Pokémon are stuck in a fantasy dungeon looking for the exit, all at the whims of a very literal and powerful Dungeon Master. RP Style This RP will have some combat and many dice rolls. The player controls both their trainer and their Pokémon, and they will have to work with others to make it out of the dungeon. Character The player will control two characters, a trainer and their Pokémon. The trainer can be of any age, gender, experience, and team size but will be converted into one of the typical Fantasy Classes in the dungeon. The Pokémon can be any of of the trainer's Pokémon but only one will accompany them in this quest. The Trainers and their Pokémon can communicate freely while in this RP. Notes - The Dungeon Master Unown takes things very literally, so watch your mouth. - Technically this takes place within a Johto League season, but that isn't relevant to the over all story. - The trainers dont have specific type powers and hit everything for neutral damage - For simplicity sake the Fantasy Classes boil down to Fighter, Ranger, Magician, Rogue, and Support.
As someone who has never played actual DnD games (not sure if RPs like Evo Quest and Luminous count), this idea sounds fun!
Idea 4 FRACTURED FUTURES Plot Synopsis You stand in the depths of the Area Zero Lab, facing against a robot facimile of the professor, forced to battle you against his will. In many timelines, you defeat him and were able to stop the time machine from bringing more ruinous Pokémon to your time. In this timeline, you fail. As your punishment for failing, the robot throws you into the time machine and sends you into a world full of neon lights, chrome cities, and dangerous Pokémon. But youre not alone, you meet other people who appear to be almost the same as you. Now, you must find a way to get back to your own timelines, or face the fatality kf the future. RP Style This RP will be a narrative RP set in a dystopian world. Battles will occur but no dedicated battle system will be put in place. Character Your character is the Violet protagonist who replaces Florian/Juliana in the game. All of the characters are those who completed the main story line and are the ones facing AI Turo. They can be of any gender or age but must have reasonably completed the previous storylines. They are able to take one Pokémon with them into the future, either their Miraidon or one of their team members. Notes - Violet Universe - All the characters have been ripped from their timelines and placed into one. But they wont somehow replace one another by being in the same time period - This RP will have plenty of FAKE Future Paradoxes to fill out the world - No organic Pokémon remain in the future
IDEA 5 THE PAST REVIVED Plot Synopsis Professor Sada was careless. She failed to see the vast power discrepancies between the Past Paradox Pokémon and their modern day counterparts. All it took was one specimen escaping the confines of Area Zero for Paldea to become a wasteland of the Primal Past. To combat the ongoing crisis, the International Pokémon League has mobilized a task force full of the brightest, strongest, and most capable members of the International League to stop Paldea's ruin. You are one of these individuals. What secrets will you find inside the Primal Paldea? RP Style This RP will be narative and exploration driven. Multiple branching paths for each step taken and every action can change the future of the RP. Battles will be done narrative style with no stats or dice rolls. Character Your character is one of the few selected members tasked to help contain the ancient Paradox Pokémon in Paldea. Your character can be of any age or gender, but must have a valid reason for why the International League chose them to be a part of the task force. There are two main aspects that they can be chosen for: Battling, and Restoration. Battling trainers must have been either League Champions (Not to be confused with Regional Champions), Gym Leaders, Elite Four Members, or Battle Facility Trainers. Restoration must either be Professors, Professors Aides, Pokémon Rangers, Pokémon Doctors, or Pokémon Breeders. They can have up to 6 Pokémon with them. Some legendaries may be allowed, but ony one legendary is allowed per character and they will have to be approved by the DM before they will be allowed. Notes - Newbie trainers will NOT be allowed to join this RP - This occurs in an alternate timeline so your character can pretty much be any high ranking you want except for Regional Champions and Evil Team Bosses
IDEA 6 (Very minor Indigo Disk Spoilers here. Nothing plot related) SYNCHRO-OOPSIE Plot Synopsis Synclaire from the Science Club has finished her latest creation: A machine that lets Trainers see the world from their Pokémon's eyes! You and a few other students decide to help her test out her new machine. But something goes wrong. Somehow, you and your Pokémon are stuck in each other's bodies! Worse still, Synclaire doesnt know what went wrong! How will you, your Pokémon, and your fellow swapped school mates handle this switch until she can put you back in place. RP Style This will be a very casual and silly RP. I don't expect this RP to last for too long. Battles will occur. Character Your character is a pair of a student and a Pokémon. The student is from Blueberry Academy and can be any age, gender, and year level. The only thing important in their backstory is how they heard of Synclaires machine and why they tested it out for her. The Pokémon belongs to your student and can be any Pokémon found inside the Blueberry Terrarium. Your Student and Pokémon will have their bodies swapped for most of the RP, so juxtapositions in their personalities could be fun. Notes - If your student is part of any clubs, that can easily be woven into this story - Takes place before the events of the Indigo Disk. No spoilers here - Your swapped trainer and Pokémon can understand each other. The other swapped members can toobut the regular language barrier still exists. (Your student-turned-Pokémon cant be understood by any regular student)

IDEA 7 A NUTTY NUZLOCKE Plot Synopsis You are just a random Pokémon, doing your best in a world where every battle can be your last. One day, a trainer comes and puts you in his party. Except its not really his party. He exists but isnt really important. Instead, you get dragged into a party of other Pokémon who want to become the very best and is just using this guy to fuel their journey. Its weird but you dont mind it. At least the food is free here. Or. A Friendlocke, but purely through RP with no video game play. RP Style. There will be a dedicated battle system that aims to somewhat recreate the actual game experience. Aside from that, all character arcs and plot progression are at the digression of the players. Character You cant decide your character here. Its first come first serve on a randomly generated Pokémon during the dedicated capture times. The player who claims it first will get to say on the Pokemons gender and ability. The Pokémon will have a moveset and a very bland personality while it isnt at the party yet, but you can change that and give it a nickname once they are added to the party. Notes - For an even nuttier experience, ALL Pokémon WILL BE RANDOMIZED. YOU CAN GET ANYTHING AND FACE ANYTHING. - This RP will be going through Hoenn post-ORAS. Yes you will have to fight Champion May at the end. Good luck. - Your trainer is kind of a non-entity. Hes there, but he wasnt planning on being a trainer until he got pushed into it by his peers, and is now only a trainer cause he keeps being pushed around by his Pokémon. He wont fight you normally.
IDEA 8 ALL LAYS TO RUIN Plot Synopsis Ms. Raifort was an interesting teacher but you never thought much of her. That is until, she tells the class a tale about four Treasures of Ruin. You and 3 other classmates who heard the tale ask her for more after class, and she readily tells you all about these mysterious Pokémon. She entrusts you the task of finding and retrieving these treasures, but is it really such a good idea? What plans does your History Teacher have for these mysterious Pokémon? RP Style Like most of these RPs, it will he a narrative style RP with some anime-esque battling. Character You are a student at Fruta/Mesagoza Academy. You can be of any age, gender, or house (Naranja and Uva are houses of the academy) and can have any Pokémon of any skill level (Yes you can be champion ranked). The only thing needed in the backstory part is why they were captivated by Ms Raiforts story and what potentially makes you trustworthy to her. You also need to specify which of the four treasured your character is most interested by. No duplicates. Notes - Like most Paldea RPs without a focus on the past or future, the academy is called Fruta and Naranja/Uva are houses of the academy instead. - Post SV. The protag is named Florian, has a Koraidon, and is currently studying abroad in Blueberry Academy. They never caught the treasures of ruin. - Only 4 people are allowed in this RP. If 4 people are interested, the DM will not make a character to join them. - Raifort is pretty sus in the game so this came out of it
If other interest could be found I think either the Past Revived or All Lays to Ruin could be Fun Might be easier to wait till after the new year but again they both sound intresting.
