Have you ever attempted to become or tried to see what it was like as a vegetarian or vegan? Or for that matter, are you a vegetarian or vegan? Do you know someone who is?

I'm actually vegetarian myself, and know a fair amount of other vegetarians.

It's actually humorous to think that before I was vegetarian, I used to eat only meat and grains, since my palette was so unforgiving and picky. I never really enjoyed veggies or fruits, and I don't understand why; neither my mother nor my father are picky eaters (or anyone in my family for that matter). However, the only problem was meat and grains were the only accessible foods I had for a while, given some harsh times where fruits and veggies became too expensive.

About a year and a half ago I made the switch, and haven't ever looked back. I changed my diet for ethical and nutritional reasons; given I don't enjoy the idea of eating an animal, and I needed to eat healthier.

I still eat eggs and dairy, but that's for the sake of requiring protein since I'm a very active person. Plus I couldn't live without ranch dressing.

Oddly enough, I still hate salad because I don't like lettuce.

Ok this may sound rude, but i don't see any point in being vegan.

My thoughts are based on the fact that humans are Omnivores. This mean humans have evolved to eat, utilize and live off all types of nutrition. Meat being one of the biggest of them.

To leave meat out of your menu, what ever the reason is, is somewhat unproductive to your system.

Trust me. I ran test on how my body would react when i leave meat out and live off plants. after a week i felt so horrible i could not continue.

But who am i to judge? If some one is a vegetarian, then so be it. More meat for me!!!

I've never been a vegetarian, and have never tried. And to be honest, I don't want to, but I respect the choice someone makes to move to vegetarianism.

My own brother is a vegetarian, and a lot of the time, I have to eat meatless dishes because of that, but that isn't soi bad. There's Quorn meat out there, which is a great replacement!

But, if you ask me, Veganism is a step too far. I know we all have our own decisions, but... Life without cheese!? That's too far! XD

Being vegetarian always seemed beyond me but recently I haven't been eating much meat at all. I still enjoy it but I largely go for noodles and rice instead uvu There's no chance of me being vegan though, I can't get enough of cheese ;v; Being vegan seems near stressful, since there're so many things with animal produce in them
    Each to their own, though!

My brother is actually a vegetarian for a few months now, and to be fair, it's only annoying to me. We always need to keep in mind that we can't make any food that contains meat because of him, which makes it very difficult to make dinner every day. It also results in our meals being vegetarian more often, which is not okay, because I still want my meat! :/

I can understand becoming one for a good reason. My mom's friend actually CAN'T have meat, otherwise she gets really sick. So that's necessary vegetarian. People who do it because" Meat is bad!" i find just weird, and disagree with that. People who don't, because they think they'll get fat, just need to learn science. Its the over processed wheat products that'll get you fat. I personally couldn'tdo it, even if i wasn't allowed to eat meat. I need my burgers.

I have tried to be Vegetarian for a large part of my life, and I know people who have lived by that rule for a long time.
However, I didn't really enjoy being a vegetarian due to a vast majority of restaurants being all meat. I think the temptation for meat was a little too strong on me and I haven't really turned back since.

Vegetarianism... Certainly interesting choice in life. It may be good to others, but certainly not for everyone. It's fine for me if someone is vegetarian, but it's not for me. Because it would restrict me very much. (due i have so many allergies)

Considering that I hardly eat meat, I wouldn't mind going vegetarian, but considering how I love my Liverwurst, I don't think I could ever do that. I know a few people who are vegetarian, but never met a few vegan people.

I'm not a vegetarian or vegan but you would think I was a vegetarian if you saw me eat most of the time since I don't eat meat all that often actually. I see no reason why I should go become either considering I like meat, that's all there really is to it. Plus if I wanted to go either I would have to start eating things I would never want to touch because I simply don't like them.

I've tried several times, but my parents really don't want me too be one. I remember once day when I saw a show about people hunting and eating odd animals, and they came across a scene where people ate Flying Foxes, and my heart sunk. But at the same time, I felt sad that I felt so bad for Flying Foxes but less so for cows and chickens, so I tried to be a vegetarian. ...But again, my parents don't want me to be one.

It IS kind of rude, actually.

To be honest, sometimes I'm ashamed to eat meat. People like you who act like humans absolutely HAVE to eat dead animals and make animal cruelty jokes are why. I also hate it when people say they won't give up meat purely because "it tastes too good."

I am a lover of meat, in fact I eat it every day. I've never considered or wanted to be a vegetarian in my life.

It's honestly each to their own. I don't go around and try forcing my views on the subject on others since I don't enjoy the reverse happening.

I get enough bull from my parents about eating healthy as they sit back and eat a pound of meat every day (which is unhealthy by the way). I'm a healthy kid, and just because I'm vegetarian doesn't mean there's something wrong with me.

I know people that prefer being it and people that is it. My cousin avoids any kind of meat and other people that I know avoid meat and some vegetables. Personally, I prefer meat since I am not a fan of vegetables. But If i have to eat vegetables, I do it since it helps you to be heathy. I never tried following one of them vetarian or vegan.

My sister, when she was younger, would go on and off being vegetarian. I'm not one myself, nor am I vegan. There's a lot of nutrition in meat that the human body in particular needs. I'm not saying it's impossible to live without eating meat, but it would be quite difficult to maintain your diet if you didn't, and you would lose a lot of physical strength in all parts of the body. Are mountain lions vegetarians? Pfft. If any other mammal species had the same intellectual and motor functions as a human being, they'd be doing the exact same to us. Bear in mind, I'm against animal cruelty. I believe the slaughters that take place should be very quick and painless. The mistreatment you see of these animals you see are not only unnecessary, but inhumane. Some life forms must eat other life forms in order to survive; it's the cycle of life. Regardless what vegans argue, that vegetable on your plate is (or was) just as alive as that cow that was just beheaded several seconds ago. Even if you didn't eat at all, you're still killing billions of microorganisms a day by simply brushing your arm off, combing your hair, scratching an itch, taking a step on the sidewalk, and even something as little as moving around. Death is all around us, we just don't see it.

That being said, I like variety when it comes to food, whether it be meat, dairy, vegetables, fruit, you name it.

My mother is a vegetarian, and before she met her boyfriend when I went to stay with her I ate a vegetarian diet for a week. I don't think I could ever actually be a vegetarian though, I like meat too much. @w@

I've considered going vegetarian a few times, but to be honest and blunt, I like meat too much. If you want to be a vegetarian, more power to you. I'll petition schools to get healthy vegan lunches with you, I'll help you with your case against friends who don't understand. But the second you try and make me feel guilty for eating meat and saying I'm cruel to animals is when I'll drop all of my support for you.

And yet it's okay when meat eaters go around and tell vegetarians they're scum for not eating dead animals and that they absolutely HAVE to eat meat because "Oh, we're designed to eat meat, we HAVE to"? The horrible things vegans supposedly do, meat eaters do it too and they're usually worse about it. Frankly, I'm ashamed to eat meat for this reason: too many omnivores I know are hypocrites.
