Every single main-series Pokémon title has come in pairs, from the humble beginnings of Red and Blue, to where it'll all come together in Sun and Moon. So, I pose a question to you; Red line or Blue line?

Now you're probably sitting there going "what the heck are you babbling on about now, Aura?". And before you call me crazy, which I am, let me show you a pattern within each main-series release.

So, if we start with Red and Blue, it's pretty obvious which line those games fit in to. Next we have Gold and Silver, where Gold fits in the Red line and Silver fits into the Blue line. Moving on to Gens 3 and 4, Ruby and Pearl are in the Red line while Sapphire and Diamond are in the Blue line. Black and White seem swapped around often, since Black features Reshiram, making it fit into the Red line while Black 2 features Black Kyurem, making it fit into the Blue line. Same goes for White fitting into blue first and then White 2 fitting into Red. For the sake of simplicity, we'll say Black/Black 2 is Blue line and White/White 2 is Red line. As we finally reach the end, X is obviously Blue line while Y is Red line. I've discounted Sun and Moon since they're not out yet, and it makes it hard to get an even score.

So here's the question I pose to you all; do you stick to the Red line or the Blue line, do you favour one line but choose either, or are you 50-50 for each line? If you're one of those people who buys both games, your line is decided on which one you played first. If you don't pick any of the main pairs and instead pick the sister game (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum), you don't belong to either path. That is, of course, assuming you stopped playing at Generation 4.

I've included a poll above to make it easier to express your path, but feel free to add why you chose each game below!

Apparently I'm blue line more, but I usually pick by the legendary so that is what determines the game I play. I'm still deciding between sun and moon to main though since im double preordering this time

I'm definitely Team Sun, but since this is the 7th Generation it makes an odd number, so that would make being 50-50 impossible.

If I included remakes, though, the number would've been 10...

Why didn't I think of this before

Hm, I appears to be a blue line picker. I usually pick based on the games flagship legend so which game I pick depends entirely on my own taste in designs of mons. I usually get both version on release for the most part but the first one I pick is usually my main game for that generation.

Seems I'm more into the blue line. I haven't decided yet whether I'm gonna play Sun or Moon first, but I do plan on buying both versions like I always do. The version I play first usually depend on the version differences more than the color. I have a feeling I'll go with Moon tho because I like the legendary better.

I guess I'm not the only one who decides on what game to buy by looking at the legendary Pokémon in that version.
I'm a Blue as well. I always have my gut feeling decide my version for me, and my gut feeling always focuses on the available legendary Pokémon in the game. I'm going with Moon for Generation VII, so I guess I'll be continuing that trend, lol.

All the games i played first are in blue line... Wait! I am the only one who got all blue points..well, it seems I am the blue line picker. As in regards of sun and moon, I am going to play moon first.

Hmm... I got 5 Blue points and 1 Red point. Guess I'm a Blue recommender, then.

If I listen to my gut, then I'm gonna be picking Moon for Gen VII but still... Even if Lunalaa is my preffered legendary based on looks I gotta look at the version exclusives first.

I lean way more towards red, which makes sense. I mean my old username was RedScizor for crying out loud. Red has always been my favorite color, and as such, I gravitate towards red things.

Unlike Nate, blue is my color but I leaned towards blue line recommended. I believe that mainly comes from the fact that my first Pokémon game wasn't by choice, I got Red from my dad when i was about 3 or 4 for my first Pokémon game ever. As a kid, if I had that choice, I would have most likely gone with blue though. I think its also because of the fact most of the versions I liked had my preferred legendary (Black/Black2) or a cooler color that I like (Silver/Diamond).

Blue line recommender, I'm going to be going for Sun this time round instead of Moon which was my initial choice so it'll probably even up

Looks like I'm a red point recommender, which makes a lot of sense considering most of my games are red. It's a little unusual because I tend to like cool colors better in general. I do end up choosing most of my versions based off of the cover, so it does make some sense that the red ones ended up being chosen more seeing as I like Groudon > Kyogre, Yveltal > Xerneas, Charizard > Blastoise, etc.

Blue line is not a huge shock to me, I've generally liked the darker colors. Given the choice I'd still pick blue over red versions, and sapphire over ruby, but at the time both of those games were just given to me. Y was chosen out of a dislike for fairy types, and I did split black and then white2 because of a reshiram loyalty. These choices might indicate red, but with no legendary bias I'd lean blue.

Dual line picker. I expected this result.
I had a habit of picking the weaker colours half the time, as opposed to the more vibrant.

I guess I draw even, which isn't exactly a bad thing.

Though I always judged by the opposite, of what my brother got.

I'm more of a red-liner I guess. Huh. Though, I picked a lot of the o-pointers. I think I just pick more off what cover art I like better.
