We all have that one group of games in our lives that effected us in ways that we couldn't have ever imagined. They changed our outlook on life, they shocked and stunned us, they made us laugh and or cry, they made us more cautious in the real world, or they even made us into better people. For me Pokémon was a big thing because it improved me socially and made me a better person all around. It made me more compassionate, understanding, caring, passionate, and more approachable person throughout my life. megaman was another big one because of the morals and qualities some of the games taugh me. They taught me that you never need a reason to help people, that some thing are worth fighting for even if they are impossible, to never give up on the good in people, that everyone has the power to protect even when all hope to do so seems to be lost, and that while the cycle of good and evil never ends good can still prevail. castlevania (even though I've never played it), taught me that sometimes you really NEED to be prepared. Rune factory taught me that not all is as it seems and that even the most dire situations can have a silver lining. It always taught me that shortcuts are great but sometimes they are not satisfying. Smash Bros taught me that it's not the strongest player that wins the most but the ones who know how to use their strengths. And finally Mario taught me that hard work can really pay off if you put in the patience, time, and practice. What games have effected you and how have they done so? Did a game ever teach you or remind you of a lesson like they did me? What other effects have they had on your lives?
Zelda taught me to think critically, and be more observant Pokémon taught me never to give up, and that the world is full of possibilities--what is, what will be, and what if. Mario taught me to be persistent and keep trying if something didn't work.
Legend of Zelda lets me take my time to brainstorm and think. Animal Crossing taught me life lessons. Donkey Kong gave me laughter and that it's okay to be humorous and crazy (No matter what age) Mario has taught me to be persistent and to never give up. Going forward and take your time. Castlevania can be dangerous with enemies, and taught me to keep away from danger and knowing my surroundings. Kirby has showed me even if I eat a lot, people wouldn't know the difference of my weight and it is okay to treat myself every once in a while. and finally.. Pokémon taught me many values of friendship, love, compassion and trust for people, animals and myself. Working hard and that hard work will always pay off.
