Recently in gaming news, it has been confirmed that Warner Brothers has bought the rights to the Five Nights at Freddies game, and is now in the works of making a movie based on the horror survival game. This is where this topic sparked for me. As of late there have been game movie adaptations that have been coming out pretty well fair. Movies that were based off video games that never really could get off the ground is the infamous Mario brothers Movie, the Prince of Persia Movie, and many more box office flops. Now we have some hope for some good video game movies that are planned for release. For one we have a planned Assassins Creed live action movie, a Sly Cooper movie, a Minecraft movie, a Ratchet and Clank movie, and even a Sonic movie all in the works for the release of 2016 and 2017 respectively. How do you feel about Video Game Movies. Do you have hope that in this day and time that these movies will be successful and solid?

I should mention to you guys, you may think the idea sounds ridiculous a bit on paper, but there still is one location the games have not met full on yet. The very first restaurant of the lore has yet to be explored thus I can imagine the movie being more of a prequel or the backstory of the murdered children, and so forth, for more info on the lore I would suggest heading to the FNAF discussion board, or just googling it.

I'm often skeptical about movies being made from video games... Most of the time they are not great, but it depends on whether they keep it animated or make it live-action (because only some work live action), and the franchise they choose.

When I heard about the movie for Five Nights, my first thought could be considered the same as that one scene from The Office (you know, the No God No scene). How can you make a movie based on a game where you sit in a room as a security guard and stare at screens... I just can't get excited for it... I honestly couldn't care for a Sonic movie because it's just not going to make sense... I don't think a Minecraft movie would wok either...

I think though that the Assassin's Creed movie, the Ratchet and Clank Movie and the Sly Cooper movie have potential (so long as the latter two are animated and not live action). Each have a great storyline and universe that can be used to create a new story. Assassin's Creed could go anywhere, but I think that they could do interesting stories with the others and I'm excited for them.

Well depends... did you like the tomb raider movies (which came out long before any of this shit) or the halo movie that is released? for some it can make sence others.... some stories are great to tell, Sly cooper or maybe even Crono Trigger but does that mean they should be on a large screen? and if there bad do they ruin our memories of it?

Also I watched prince of Persia I thought it was a pretty good movie...

I'm a bit old fashioned, so I prefer video games to stay as video games. Movies can help get the game more attention, though I don't feel like it is always the right attention.

Movies made from video games are generally bad films. That just seems to be the way things go, unfortunately. I get pretty wary of those movies.

I don't know much about the FNAF games, but if this accurately summarizes the plot, I'd expect an entirely new story, because that's not a great story for a movie.

Video games should stay as video games. What makes a game good is not the same that makes a movie good, so it kinda ruins the idea of the movie. Movies have no mechanics and game play, it just is not right for me :/
