Virtual Reality Gaming has always been an idea, spanding to even TV show tie ins like Tron. It was only until recently where Virtual Reality Gaming got more attention as we got our first product helmet that you could buy with an easy click of a button, the Oculus Rift. The Oculus Rift offered support to many horror games and even tech demos. It represented how advanced the tech is and such and how well it can also work for virtual gaming too.

What do you think of Virtual Reality Gaming? Do you think it has a good future ahead of itself? What game would you like to have Virtual Reality?

Well, it's failed in the past with the Virtual Boy and the R-Zone in the mid-90's. With today's technology though, I think the concept can finally work. I look forward to the Oculus Rift, although I unfortunately couldn't play it because I wear glasses. I suppose it's about high time to upgrade to contact lenses... not. It may work out for people in my situation. If not though, it's no big loss.

I think that VR gaming is going to be interesting, but console gaming will always have its place as well. Being able to immerse yourself in worlds like Skyrim and Legend of Zelda, or VR FNaF, having to manually move to check the cameras and the jumpscares right up in your face, that would work so well. I saw a tech demo of the Occulus Rift support with Alien: Isolation, and I could not imagine seeing that same thing that the guy saw, looking down and seeing his character's body run through by the Alien.

The thing is, VR will only work properly with Open World Real Time games. Platformers, Turn-Based strategy, puzzle games, all of those will be the reason consoles stick around when VR gaming becomes massive. Also, Nator's response makes me wonder what playing with glasses would be like...

As of now, i would say that VR is not worth it, when VR technology advances it might be good, but for now. i will say no.

Virtual reality might probably be a good thing for future of video games.

I'm hoping I might get the HTC Vive, because that's for Steam games that supports VR headsets. Playing TF2 in VR mode might be a blast lol.
