VOCALOID - What is it? (Poll)

Honestly, I have no clue, I thought it was one of those tablets people take before going on stage to help their voice XD

 

Well, a friend of mine listens to Vocaloid songs. I'm not really active within the Japanese-themed internet community, but I think I would've heard about it if it was an anime/manga or a computer game, so I just chose songs. I think my information sources are wrong though...
I myself have listened to a few songs (well, that friend let me listen to them, but Japanese music isn't really my music genre.

 

I know what it is. My cousin is crazy about vocaloid and I was curious when I first heard about it; a local com has a vocaloid concert every year.

 

While the "correct" answer would be "Computer Program", I chose "Music Artist" because at the end of the day, it is art and Vocaloid's are in a way, artists! c:

 

I agree Vocaloid music is art, just like any other genre, but I think the musical artists are actually the people who use the program to create the music. If it wasn't for them, Vocaloid probably never would've become popular.

 

I disagree Very few fans of Vocaloid know the people behind them. Vocaloid is popular because it's Vocaloid. No matter who was behind it, it would still be popular, I think.

That said, they are the real artists so I agree with you there

 

Yeah, you're right. I mean no one would know or care about Vocaloid if people weren't actually making good music with the program.

 

Vocaloid in my opinion is a computer program that gives a chance for people to create songs of their own- without using their voice. It then spiraled as the concept was genius and turned into videogames and a whole fandom behind it.
There are many people with bad voices out there- but are amazing lyricists- and without Vocaloid- we wouldn't have these amazing songs.
