This is just a thread to discuss and share and convert innocent souls to vocaloid.

If you didn't know, is an awesome program which lets you make your own song without having to sing yourself. There are tons of different voice banks, and it's reel coo c:

I might go a little bit off-topic here, but I believe Hatsune Miku got really popular lately, which got me kind of interested. It's indeed very fascinating to see so many people going crazy about a holographic artist with a computer generated voice. Needless to say, it's a Japanese thing, because everything starts in Japan xD People paying real money to go to that kind of concert is something you don't see everywhere else in the world... Yet.

I think it's great. The problem with people is that they're people, and people have flaws. A computer doesn't. But there's something about going to see a digital artist perform that makes it a bit strange. But I think (and hope) that that's just a matter of time. And for myself, I'm definitely not a concert person, but if there would be a Vocaloid concert anywhere near me, I'd go for sure. It's an experience that I don't want to miss. :)

I have to disagree. I have friends who went to a small Miku concert. they are outside of Japan, but really small o: last year a danish con hosted a small Miku concert. I didn't went myself though.

I notice that more American artists has take notice of the Vocaloid program and used them as warm ups for their own concerts which I don't mind at all.
sadly for me, I'm not found of most of the song with vocaloids, not because the songs are bad but I just don't like the robotic sounds of them, but that's what nico nico is for! I'll just find an awesome cover of the song 8D

I second this. I also prefer it of there's an English translation (and one that's actually fixed around to work in English as opposed to a direct translation of the Japanese words), because there's something more satisfying about hearing it in a language that I can understand.

    Prime example:

@AstralDragon: Miku has been the most popular Vocaloid since her release in 2007(?). Vocaloids actually started out in English, but they didn't get much attention until Miku came out. She's definitely not my favorite because of her squeaky voice, but it would be interesting to see a concert.

Sometimes the artists sort of play with the Vocaloids' robotic qualities to their advantage (e.g. Giga-P), which is pretty cool when done right. Others tune them to sound so realistic that it's almost scary (e.g. Peperon-P and Last Note).

Some English covers that I love are Lizz's Answer, Ham's cover of WAVE, and lots of JubyPhonic's stuff on YouTube. Then there are the millions of covers made by Engloids that are a bit eh.

I'm going to a miku concert in a month owo

GigaP is probably my favorite producer ever, mostly because of his work with Len. Manbo-Dead-Behind-The-House-P is a hilarious producer, and he's tied with DECO*27.

    I can't believe there's a thread for VOCALOID!
I personally love Servant of Evil.

It stars Kagame Len and Rin!!
*Frowns* Is it just me, or is it always Miku's fault when someone dies in a VOCALOID song?
