Wally

There better be some change, it'll be incredibly bland and boring with no change. He was never really THAT interesting of a character in the first place.

I really hope they do more with him, personally i'm hoping they give him a super strong team you battle at the end of the game or something like that. It would be cool if they did something like Norman leaves the gym to Wally at the end of the game and you can go back and challenge him. Just an idea, I feel like they can do something a lot more interesting with him.

 

I really didn't like him all that much. He somehow knows your father, who just gives him a Pokémon and Pokéballs (he didn't give me anything). He was that one douchebag who managed to find a Ralts in one try, while I was searching for one for hours. Then he just randomly comes in at random moments in the game, not being anything important. I never really understood what his deal was, but he always seemed like a weak guy to me, afraid of everything in the outside world, yet he managed to get to Victory Road somehow. He was really someone I couldn't care less about. But maybe, if they give him a better role in OR/AS, I might start liking him just a little bit more.

Also, he has green hair. Is he a cousin of N or something?

 

They'll have to give him a bigger role or leave him out, because I didn't get his purpose in the original games either

Whenever something happened with him I kind of just said "oh okay" without a second thought as to why

 

I read on Bulbapedia that the name Wally probably comes from Walter, meaning "ruler of the army".

I... I don't know... I don't get it. What part of Wally comes even close to "ruler of the army"? It doesn't make any sense...

 

I think that Wally was meant to be someone that you help to because stronger, but he was just basically showing people that he is lucky by just finding a Ralts first attempt. I don't understand how some of your rivals get to Victory road if they never earned the badges that you had to to reach that place. May feels like the rival, while Wally is a weird recurring character that you don't remember all that much.

I think that this would be an interesting idea that Norman steps down as gym leader. And since you can't become a gym leader (excluding the Secret bases gyms), why not give it to the guy who is aspiring to be as strong as you (I think that's what he wanted at least). He has a cool idea, but doesn't really get too much done to make him memorable (other then to be a catching Pokémon tutorial).

 

Wally needs more screen time and a make over. give him part of the story already Nintendo! >:
I agree that Wally was a very forgettable character, but I did like him, so I really hope they would do more about him! ):

 

I hope Wally plays a bigger part in the remakes. I actually quite liked his role in RSE because in the prior two generations you only had a rival that you competed with. It was kind of cool to have a character that you help, rather than being the one constantly getting help from pretty much every character in the game. I'm also crossing my fingers that he gets Mega Gardevoir. After his life of being meek and shy, he'll emerge as a strong, confident trainer with a great bond with his Pokémon giving him access to mega evolution. I'm really hoping Wally is the friend character with a mega evolution instead of your counterpart May/Brendan.

 

success? I meant more as all the other trainers, like the gym leaders and E4 with their new designs. that kind of make over. though I don't mind a Master Ball give away x'D

 

I'm betting that he'll have no significance in the story at all. As said before, even in RSE he had no reason to exist. If anything, I'm hoping for him to be just another character at the end of the game who you can level on. Also, there is a possibility that he could replace Norman, but he would have to use a much weaker team. Level 90 Gardevoir as the 5th gym leader seems pretty fair to me.

However, in the RS manga, Wally was very interesting! He was a weak, fragile guy, and then, under Norman's training, he became a really strong trainer. Maybe he could be like that in ORAS and be a strong, second rival I agree with Kishen above. Maybe he could have a Mega Gardevoir and kick our butt in the Victory Road? /o/
And he needs a redesign. That white shirt is horrible.
