Was there ever a Pokemon that you thought had a shiny color different from what it really is?

I thought that Froakie's shiny was a bright green, to resemble a real frog, but it's just a lighter blue.
I also thought that Pichu's shiny, or "Pikachu-coloured Pichu", just used Pikachu's palette, but it actually uses a lighter palette.

 

I had always thought that electabuzz's shiny was the one that had the blue-ish stripes. Turns out that was just the regular one.

In my defense, you don't see many electabuzz around! And I thought its regular coloring looked better than the brownish shiny version...

 

I always thought Suicune's shiny mane-thing was still purple, but apparently, it's not. It's extremely blue.

At least I was right about the dress.

 

I always figured that Shiny Pikachu and Shiny Raichu had really cool colors, because Pikachu was the mascot Pokémon and all. Then one day when I finally looked them up online I was disappointed, because they were basically just the same colors, only lighter. Kinda lame when you compare to like.. Shiny Ninetales, that one has pretty cool colors.

I was surprised about Ponyta being blue when shiny. But other than that i don't know. What's funny though, is that i guessed Magikarp was gold when shiny, and when i checked, it was.

 

I've always wanted Totodile to be purple back in the day (a dark shade of purple). Obviously, we didn't get that.

 

When I caught N's purloin, I thought it was shiny because of the sparkle. And I guessed that its shiny was just a shade darker or something. I was kinda disappointed when I found out it was scripted.

 

I always thought Kecleon's shiny was that purple coloration like the one in Mystery Dungeon.



Also, for some reason I always thought shiny Spearow had blue wings.

 

For the longest time I thought Shiny Dragonite was black... then I sent one to XD Gale of Darkness and boy was I surprised!

 

At first, I thought that Kecleon's Shiny was purple, similar to the one in the PMD series. It turns out that it wasn't.

I also used to think that Hawlucha's Shiny was going to be green instead of red, but it turns out that its actual Shiny form has the colours of a DC supervillain instead. xP

Anyway, for the longest time I thought shiny Kecleon was purple (Like, as visible from this thread, many others did). I still think the change of red from blue on the stripe looks really nice, but having a purple one would be awesome.
I also thought shiny Greninja had a yellow underside like its' normal form thanks to Smash Bros., but it doesn't. It's just black. With a red tongue. Not sure which is cooler.

 

I'm so embarrassed to say this I was online and I saw a theory of N from Pokémon BW being a Zoroark, and from that point on, I just assumed shiny Zoroarks had a green mane (partly because at the time I thought he was a Zoroark, too) so I was just playing through my game, just waiting to see a Zoroark with a green mane, but when I finally did, it had a PURPLE mane, and I'm just like 'What the heck?!' I looked up to see a shiny Zoroark had a purple mane, not green.
.....That was a little bit disappointing (but mostly embarassing because I lost five bucks) for me.

 

I always thought shiny Treecko was black after I saw a bootleg toy that was black and blue Whole body black, blue tail only)
It was the biggest shock when i saw its amazing actual shiny pallete

 

I thought Butterfree's shiny was a light pink, due to the Pokémon Anime~
A couple months back, I got a shiny Butterfree from GTS, and it turns out, it had green eyes, instead of the usual red. As for the body color, it stayed the same.
I want a pink Butterfree~

 

I always thought Shiny Rapidash's flames would be blue, like Ponyta's.

Obviously, I was wrong.

 

I can't believe I forgot to say it, but I thought for YEARS that shiny Stantler had a red nose like Rudolph.
I was disappointed to say the least when I seen its' actual shiny form.

 

I always thought of shiny Magmortar as green, but it is apparently pink. Strange color indeed.

 

I thought for a while that Magikarp's shiny would be blue since Gyarados' shiny is red, which is similar to the palette of Magikarp. It looks nice in gold still though! It might be worthless in battle, but I'm sure a gold fish isn't worthless on the market >V>

 

Kecleon. In the anime, there is this kecleon that is purple. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Thus, kecleon purple was in my head. However, NO. IT WAS A LIE.
