Have you ever had a problem with these? I know I hate these damn things.

99% of them are just tedious. Then you have things that should've never existed like the Great Bay Temple. Tedious layout, tedious puzzles, tedious mini-boss, tedious stray fairies. Damn it all.

I thought the Great Bay Temple was pretty easy.

Even though I played OoT many times, I still can't get over that water temple. That one was just awful.

Yes I have, especially in game where your character can die from falling into water!

Last Tinker comes to mind immediately.

But a more infamous example is probably the water tunnel in Blackwater on the planet Rilgar in the original Ratchet & Clank. That gave me sooo much trouble when I used to play the demo of it!

I have a love and hate relationship with these things. One is that you can get so many items from another tide, but the risk is that you have to wait 6 or so hours to actually do it. Besides that, in other games controlling water levels is annoying, but it's one of the puzzles in games that you spend hours upon hours on.

I don't like water levels for making the game sluggish and limit your options underwater.

For instance, in Mario, you move SLOW, most games give you a water timer and your options to attack enemies are limited.

In Kirby, you can't inhale underwater, go slower and your abilities are usually nerfed in water.

...Yeah I don't like them. xD

Oh god, don't even get me started on the Great Bay Temple. It's so ridiculously stupid, I could rant about it for hours on end. Compared to that atrocity, OoT's Water Temple seems like a walk through the park! (No really I actually didn't have that much trouble with the Water Temple at all)

Anyway, back to the actual topic; it's a huge shame that so many water levels are just really bad, because I actually like the concept a lot! It's just that the game's controls aren't made for underwater, so it just doesn't feel right :/ I really hope that some games in the future will have amazing water levels, I'd love to see that :D

In some games, water levels are fun. However, in most games, water levels really just kinda suck. I mean, the music overall isn't nearly as good as the rest of the soundtrack and the water parts seem so confined and hard to move around in.

Nintendo just fucks with us every time a new water level in a Mario game is released. Those things... The purple cheep cheeps will be the death of me.

Most of them are useless and is there just to make the game feel longer. I personally don't like them at all :/
