I remember in the lore from Gen 5, they said that Pokémon and Man were pretty much the exact same. And in the Japanese version, they even mention Pokémon and Humans marriage. This just makes me wonder what this could have been like. You guys got any ideas?
All I can think of is the scene from Gravity Falls when the man marries a wood pecker. My guess is they occurred but not as often as human and human or Pokémon and Pokémon since so far and hopefully forever there is no hybrids so it probably didn't last long as populations would have decreased.
Hm, well it was probably in the very far past. They most likely didn't have children. If so, they probably all disappeared or something...it is a mystery, but that's what is great about it. Some people most likely got criticized for it though, which is maybe a possibility why it died out....
My guess is that it is also an option, I also humanoid Pokémon may have been preferred for a marriage or were people like this magikarp is pretty, MARRIAGE.
This could have been some, and it would have ended in Pokémon like Machamp and Jynx. This also could explain why some humans have Psychic abilities.
I have a whole bundle of headcanons for things regarding human x Pokémon. I would think that is was a thing of the past that happened quite often, but it was criticized so terribly that it died off and it wasn't allowed for humans to marry Pokémon thereafter. But ignoring my headcanons, I would think that it would be any other marriage. Two beings together and bound by love as a family. Anyway, I sure hope we get more lore on this because it's pretty vague and the imagination can't fill in everything. If they did, I just want confirmation it was just a normal marriage.
I never thought about that, there are so many strange people with weird abilities. All I can think of is that reverse battle guy in Gen 5, this could really have blossomed into a sub species of humans.
I always took it to mean that in the past Pokémon and Humans coexisted as equals, no catching, training and battling or owning like now, but a different relationship where they simply lived together in a primitive society in a different way. But as time and technology drove forward, the relationship changed, and humans with their new science and development, though still admiring and loving Pokémon, came to see them differently, as things perhaps lesser than themselves, and Pokémon stayed mostly primitive and took on the role of wild animals in the case of most species. The old ties became forgotten and estranged, with only glimmers of what once was on those occasions when humans and wild Pokémon come together for mutual benefit.
I wonder if there are lines of families, like the Avatar, that hold certain powers passed from Pokémon. Did people stem from Pokémon, if so then are people not having relationships with Pokémon but not as evolved spieces.
Haha, i kinda found this topic quite intriguing but I mainly agree with @[member="Dusty"] that they existed as equals. Never really thought about it a marriage way but I wouldn't rule it out i guess.
