What annoys you the most about Pokemon Showdown?

The fact that I can't win a battle on there xD

 

Same as you Nocturnal, thank god for the timer though, otherwise people wouldn't be beatable.

 

the fact that my computer can't really handle it. I've only done a handful of battles on it really though.

 

The trolls in the chat. Them running out the clock gave me more time to strategize

 

As a room moderator in PS Smogon Art room, it's always the trolls who give me the daily annoyance (as well as my roomban) quota. lol

 

For me it is the inconsistencies. For instance, the move Avalanche for my Empoleon is listed as fair, but then it doesn't let me play with the empoleon because it's "not compatible with it". Then why is it an option if it isn't compatible? :/ I've had this problem with Blissey and Wish too.

 

Its allowed in hackmons.

 

For me, it's how terrible the LC chatroom can be. It's honestly disgusting for most of the day.

 

I think the most annoying thing is the predictability of the people who play there. The most commonly used team is Protean Greninja, Mega Blaziken, Gale Wings Talonflame (which spams nothing but bravebird), Aegislash, Prankster Klefki, and last but not least tanky Goodra.
Like come on people. Where is your creativity. If I wanted to see the same exact battle play out again and again I'd just hit replay.
As for the trolls, I always just close the forums. All of them just cry about people breaking smogon's unofficial rules.

The thing I hate the most is having people forfeit rather than letting their last Pokémon die :/ literally the most annoying thing ever since I do occasionally do narrations and such for YouTube and I really do not like posting anything other than a full length battle...

 

Gtta agree with Jas there. If it didn't have Brave Bird + Gale Wings it would not be OU. It would be NU / RU.

It's like why Charizard is OU. The only reasons are it's mega evolutions.

 

Ah, Showdown. Probably the thing that annoys me the most about it are the people who think Smogon is the best thing ever and that everything should run Smogon sets and Smogon rules.

I used to play on it a lot but now I just use it to test out teams for Battle Spot.

 

What annoys the most is someone using a Aron A LEVEL 1 Pokémon and defeated my level 92 Pokémon. Which is called a ARON SWEEP. ._.​

It does actually and there's one for Makigarp as well and that one annoys me the most!​

 

It was most prevalent in gen5 when ability weather persisted for the entire match. Basically someone would use a Pokémon with sandstream and then they would eventually send out a lv1 aron holding a shell bell. If aron isn't inflicted by status, hazards, or multi hit moves, it can sweep. Basically you attack the lv1 aron, it survives with sturdy, then it uses endeavor and lowers your hp to 1 while sandstorm damage KOs you. The shell bell fully heals the lv1 aron and then sturdy can reactive again against another hit and so forth. Nowadays though, with limited weather and stealth rocks everywhere, aron is easily countered. It is also useless against ghost type Pokémon since endeavor is a normal type move. Still, it was pretty devastating if you had nothing to counter it.

I think the thing that annoys me the most about Showdown are the chats. Everyone is just so rude and inappropriate, it makes me wish I could just mute all my opponents. There have been so many occasions in which an opponent usually asks inappropriate questions, talks smack, or flat out spams vulgar swears. Another thing that also annoys me a bit is when your opponent purposely wastes time and attacks at the last second, making matches take a lot more time then they should. In the event of a stall, I really get annoyed if someone is stalling and wasting time just to annoy their opponent into forfeiting.

 

I feel you on the Smogon stuff. One guy actually tried to report me for using a Glaceon with Snow Cloak + Blizzard which is in no way against VGC (I admit it's a cheap tactic, but hey. I was just testing it out) because that's a banned combination in Smogon's rules.
And yes, Smogon is a helpful resource for starting out, as well as getting new ideas for things, but considering a good half of their sets come with Choice items its just boring after a while. (Plus a bit of their references are outdated/incorrect since I've had at least 3 instances of them being like 'use this set' and the Pokémon can't even learn the most crucial move for it.)

 

Yo Magi, I don't understand the room ban quota. You have to ban a certain amount of people each day or something? But what if not enough people are breaking the rules that day, will people just get banned for the sake of it? I doubt it but i'm legit curious.
