In my country, it is the month of Thanksgiving, a holiday about giving thanks, getting together with family, and eating lots of amazing food.

Even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I think it's always a nice thing to think about. ♥

So, what things in your life are you thankful for? ^_^

    I'm thankful to live under a family where I have access to a clean source of water. There are millions in the world who do not have this kind of luxury many of us take for granted, so I'm extremely thankful for that. ;-;

This is going to sound really cliche, but I'm thankful for my family. They're always loving and supportive of me even when I'm not, and I can always count on them for a pick-me-up.

I'm really thankful for my family, specifically my parents. They do and work so hard so I can have a roof over my head, food and water to keep me well nourished, and loads more. Without them, I wouldn't even be alive either, so much thanks for that. I feel like a never say thanks to my parents enough, but I know through the good and the bad times, they will always love me and support me.

I'm also going to be thanking Lake Valor. Lake Valor has become like a second home to me the past three months. I've met people across the world who enjoy Pokémon as much as I do, and have built such a friendly and sweet community. Some of these folks I've gotten to know a bit more than others, but most of them have made me feel like I belong here. You guys give me encourage and love, and it really lifts my day. You honestly don't know how much this place means to me. I know I'm not really a "veteran" here, but I'd probably have a mental breakdown if Lake Valor disappeared as it has become such a big part of my life. I'm honestly just really happy to be a member, and even luckier to be a part of the staff. Thank you all for making my stay here just so amazing and I can't wait to spend some more time here.

(I'd like you guys to know that typing while literally crying is extremely hard)

    I'm thankful for life.

Think about it; one day, you'll die, and it all will fade to black. Complete nothingness. We all know it, but few of us actually stop to consider the implications of Death. Most people don't fully grasp the concept until just before they die, and so break down in their final moments, wishing that they had stopped to smell the roses during their journey through life. That's not the way I want to live, and that's surely not the way I want to go.

Yeah, I admit, I'm scared of Death. At least, right now. I used to be deathly afraid of it as a kid, and would literally cry at night because of the thought. As of a few years ago, the realization that I would leave this world forever would keep me awake for a few hours in silence. Now, I stop to ponder about it every now and then, and though the thought is heavy and I wish it could be avoided, I think I'm starting to come to terms with it.

Be thankful for your life. Sure, everybody has one, but only a few really enjoy it. Life is something most of us take for granted, and we don't realize just how great of a gift it really is until we meet our ends. Without Life, there is no happiness, no fond memories, no love, no nothing, and frankly, there'd be no Lake Valor either. Everything stems from Life, so we have to be sure to be happy about it.

Sure, sometimes, Life just seems to suck. Sometimes, Death seems better than life, but that's never true. Pain is temporary, but Death is permanent. Something in Life can always make the pain go away, but even Life cannot reverse Death. Pain is but a minion of Death, one which tells us that we are alive. We're living, breathing beings who can think and act for ourselves. We're capable and proud. We can accomplish anything. The only reason crime, poverty, and all this negativity exists is ignorance of the impact of Life. If people could just take a little time to consider their life and ponder their death, this world would be a better place.

I'm alive. You're alive. Everyone is alive. Everyone shares the same feelings, and everyone goes through them the same way. If people realized that, it would do so much good.

I am most thankful for the suffering I have gone through in life.

This may come across as a tad bit morbid, but allow me to explain myself. I've had to deal with a lot of problems as I've been growing up. I often couldn't trust myself due to my own mental problems, and my body doesn't function correctly. For most of my life, this has dragged me down and made it difficult for me to really do anything.

Despite the fact that I could have easily died many times to my horrendous conditions, this flesh clung to my soul like a child clings to the leg of a loving mother in a crowd of strangers. I wasn't thankful for that for the majority of my life, but I'm thankful for it now. All those challenges and problems were obstacles in life that I had to get over, whether I wanted to or not.

I only recently came to believe it, myself, but what doesn't kill you does make you stronger, at least mentally. I have great sympathy for those around me whether their struggles are great or small due to my own time spent struggling. I know how to comfort people who feel like nobody understands them. I've learned how to deal with suffering so that I can take some of the heavy weight of living off the shoulders of my friends and bear it myself.

In short, my suffering has made me a better man in the end. I wouldn't trade a moment of my pain away for all of the joy in the world. I'll bear the pain so that somebody else can be happy. This is my greatest strength born from my greatest weakness, and it is what I am most thankful for in life.

The existence of LV! I feel like this is a place where people really understand me, and everyone here is like a huge family if you think about it. I don't know what I'd do without this place!

I'm thankful for the opportunities and experiences life has given me. Those things made me to the person who I am nowadays, and even though I'm absolutely not an example for other people, I certainly am unique. Whether my uniqueness is a good thing or not, that's up to you to decide. Everything that ever happened to me, both the good and the bad things, have had a certain impact on me. Although I wish that certain things had never happened, there's no going back, so all I can do is make the best of it.

So I know I already made a post about thanking lv, but I'm going to just really say how much I appreciate the lv folks. I've always been an emotional person and I break down pretty easily. Earlier in the night, I had a fight with my mom in the mall over something so stupid. And she yelled and yelled, and I cried and cried. She eventually stopped yelling, but I kept crying. I could not stop. It got so bad that I briefly lost my voice and my eyes became swollen. I made a choice. I asked some of my friends here on LV to tell me something that would make me feel better, and I didn't care if they were lies or not. And then. I stopped crying. With such little words (and a paragraph and some hugs), they moved me. The person who couldn't stop crying. Thank you so much to the friends I've made here on lv. You've made me laugh, cry, feel so many different emotions. I'm going to specifically call out these wonderful people: @[member="Achromatic"] @[member="AquawindLugia"] @[member="Deltheor"] @[member="Satix"] @[member="❀Bloom❀"] for making me feel so welcome, for being such great friends to me, and making me feel so loved. Thank you all for being such amazing people and I don't think I can ask for better friends.
To all the other great members here, you guys should cherish this place, meet some people to talk to, they may just help you get through your day! I love everyone here, and I thank you all for being some of the best people I have ever met.

<3 Love you Lost. Sad I wasn't there to help, but you had some awesome people there to help you anyways, and that's so wonderful. Know we're always here for you no matter what!

Thanksgiving is over now, but that doesn't mean we can't stop being thankful ^_^ Personally, I want to say I'm particularly incredibly thankful for my boyfriend, even if we don't always agree, he always does everything he can to make me happy. (and I mean absolutely EVERYTHING.) He's such a strong person and he consistently surprises me with everything he manages to do and put up with. I'd be pretty lost and cripplingly lonely without him.

Losty. TДT I'm really glad you feel better. ♥ A lot of us tend to have bumpy relationships with family but you're right that people here will always be around to pick you back up.. friends are a powerful thing even if they're made online. :) Very happy reading your post! Stay strong.

But anyways, first and foremost I'm thankful for friends, family, and my boyfriend. They're always around to cheer me up when I'm down and are so very fun to talk to. I have many more friends online than I do irl and still appreciate each and every one of you if we've spoken even once in the past. Thank you!

Also living where I do. Not many families get the chance to live in a three-story house so I feel really lucky that we're well off enough to not have to live in a cramped apartment, especially since there are five of us. That and I'm in NYC so my job opportunities are a lot more plentiful given that this one of the biggest if not the biggest place to find work in the US. <- grabbed this from elsewhere that I posted in since it also applies here.

Aaand my precious kitties. They are amazing pets and make me happy! It's no fun being alone without my favorite animal resting near me, waiting for me to pet him or her. Hehe.

I'm thankful for my family, having a house, food, all of my technology, pets and importantly - all of my real friends.

It's hard to find real friends that will be there for you whenever you need them, friends who won't ignore you or leave you when you need them the most, so I really appreciate that.
