What console will Sun and Moon be on?

    With the released of the N3ds, Nintendo made it so that there were games that could only be played on that specific console. It worked of course, as Xenoblade Chronicles 3d sold well. Many people have bought a N3ds, but a lot of people have not.

    Do you think Pokémon Sun and Moon will be a N3ds exclusive? Why or why not? Is there a chance they will release it on a future console? Maybe the mysterious NX?

    I personally think that it is just going to be a 3ds release, as Pokémon has never been known for its overwhelming controls at all, and a lot of the game can just be played on the touch screen anyways. Other than to try and earn more money, I don't see a reason at all for them to release it only on the N3ds. Also, I think it is a little too early to be speculating about the NX and what kind of games it will have.

    I also think it's just going to be on the 3DS as it just makes things less complicated for Gamefreak as a whole. The spoiler artwork shown in the trailer for the games also appears to be very similar to XY and ORAS in terms of graphics, so I'd assume they have it planned for the same console that had those games and the similar 3D model designs that came with them.

    I'm glad to hear that they're planning on it, but with any game, this is subject to change. There is a minuscule chance that it will be released on a future handheld, emphasis on miniscule. I have learned to not trust Nintendo and their partner companies because of my past experiences, although I still believe that the game will be a 3ds release.

    Probably, but I think it's to be noted that Black and White and their sequels were still released on DS despite of the console's supposed to be near-end lifespan back in the day, so I would stick to the fact that Sun and Moon will go to 3DS as a whole, even though I'd like these games to have some extra speed boost when playing on New 3DS to give any New 3DS user some good advantage and all, just like in several other games recently.

    1. I'm happy it's gonna be available for the regular 3DS, so that I don't have to buy an N3DS.

    2. But then it would also be great if they were able to make a game that really utilizes the capabilities of the N3DS.

    I think already developing this game for a console that has yet to be released is pretty hard. I've heard about how much work it is to create a Pokémon game (I've heard something about a few years?), and creating a game for a console that simply doesn't exist yet is pretty much impossible. Seeing the official post confirmed what I already believed: the game will be for the 3DS. I can't seem to think of a way to make the game exclusive for the New 3DS (is there any major difference between the "old" and the "new" 3DS besides the improved 3D?), which means I don't have to buy a new console in order to play this game!

    I don't see why they should make it exclusive to the N3ds. There would be a lot of complaints, and Nintendo wouldn't want that.
