What Defines a 'Cute' Pokemon?

Well, I find lots of Pokémon cute. But sticking to the topic, here's some Pokémon that not everybody find adorable.

Mewtwo - Four years back, when I first experienced Mewtwo in depth (as in more closely rather than just pictures or mentions) I got close to it and really loved it. I loved its backstory and would have really made friends with it in real life. Although I didn't think it was cute, I did at the same time... ??? Okay, to put it simply, I thought and didn't think that it was cute at the same time - but it is. I am confusing myself.

Reshiram and Zekrom - My twin sister and I cherish these Pokémon as our favourites. Dragons? They are two awesome Pokémon that are coincidentally twins themselves. They look fierce and epic, yet still hold a bit of space for cuteness. Has anybody played Pokémon Amie with them? Then you'd probably understand why I have mentioned these two.

Sandile - I know this is a cute Pokémon but Sandile is probably the cutest Pokémon in my eyes. Just take a look at how adorable it is! The smile... the beady eyes... I never have the heart to defeat one in battle. I squeeze my Sandile plush toy every time I hold it! I named one of my many Sandiles (some who have evolved) Concaio (Pronounced Konn-KUY-ow).

Arceus - My sister has this Pokémon - isn't Arceus adorable when you concentrate on the cute side?

Here are some other Pokémon that are cute and I won't explain for some lengthy purposes:
-Ho-Oh
-Lugia
-Raikou, Entei and Suicune
-Tornadus
-Thundurus
-Yveltal
-Xerneas

And some Pokémon I don't have the heart to defeat in battle:
-Snivy, Servine and Serperior
-Seviper
-Ekans and Arbok
-Pidove
-Swablu
-Shildeen (I'm talking about a different game here )

Obvious answer for me would be giratina. But seriously have you ever played Amie with a giratina in origin form? It actually smiles with it's twin mouth prong thingies and it coils excitedly and makes absolutely adorable distorted clicking noises.

Darkrai also manages to be adorable in Amie, and I've always found him kinda cute to begin with what with his big poofy hair stuff.

I have found zangoose cute in a roundabout way. It does so much glaring and stuff like 'no I'm not adorable go away stop petting me hear me roar' AND FOR SOME REASON THAT'S ADORABLE TO ME. Same with mewtwo haha.

Jellicent are squishy blobs of water with giant mustaches in male form or fancy frilly thingies in female form. I find this both hilarious and d'aww worthy.

Malamar are also adorable because I said so. Seriously, I have no reason, they just are adorable to me.

And I don't know if this counts as them being adorable but I have always wanted to hug an arcanine. If it does then yes, big fluffy fire dog is adorable as all getout.

I'm probably gonna remember a lot more in thirty minutes and wish I had listed them here haha. I find a lot of Pokémon cute especially in Amie oh my lordy how did they make everything so cute?

I'd like to take a moment and talk about our good friend

Although it's hated by many, a few people agree that Trubbish is actually quite adorable! If it wasn't for the fact that it's literally made of trash, it would be absolutely huggable! But... Why?

I think you could describe "cute", in Pokémon context at least, as something you wouldn't want to hurt, because you'd feel sorry for it. And that description could indeed fit Trubbish quite well: it has it's arms hanging down, not showing any intensions to fight. It doesn't want to harm you, so why would you want to harm it instead?

Wooper is another great example. I mean let's be honest, the poor things doesn't even have the arms to fight with at all. It's just there, trying to make the best out of it, not having any bad intentions.

Personally, the cutest Pokémon is Swinub:

It can't even see anything behind all the hair, it's just a big nose sticking out xD

 

I'm often told I'm weird for thinking most bug types are adorbs, but it's not that bizarre to me since I think the same about real life bugs. ^ ^'
There's also Ursaring and Elektross; they probably weren't meant to be cute, but I wanna give them both hugs~!

 

I really like Oddish and Magnemite. they just are so cute, I'll admit that their cuteness goes down as they evolve, except when you let oddish evolve into bellossom.
Dialga. I would totally lie under a tree with Dialga. just chillin and maybe taking a nap. He has a cuteness appeal which makes him one of my very small number of legendaries I like.

Vanillite is another cutie, though he rides the line of oddball cutie. I'm so glad they included him in gen V

 

I find Chesnaught cute, mostly because of it's smile in Amie.
I really like Umbreon's Amie animation the best. I mean, have you ever seen an Umbreon so happy, wagging it's tail? That's 100% cuteness, I tell ya.

Oh, can't foget Zigzagoon. Adorable yet annoying as hell.

 

I've always loved Lunatone and Solrock.

Lunatone just reminds me of a croissant, and I find that cute for some reason.

Solrock looks like an old man who fell out of his bed and got cracked skin. But it floats, it's eyes glow funny, and it's basically a child's rusty Sunny Funny plushie.

Also, I can't help but think about the adorable twins, Tate and Liza, whenever I see these two.

 

I think one of my more oddball choices in cuteness is Galvantula./Joltik. Its something about those beady eyes that makes me like it.

Sableye is just adorable in the way of how sinister it tries to look all the time

Gastly as well. I know that its literally just a ball of gas, but it looks so huggable. Id probably suffocate and die if I tried to hug one, but itd be totally worth it.

 

Every individual has a personal taste when it comes to "cuteness". A majority of the Pokémon that are intended to be cute, I find to be overly cheesy. I'm very much a reptile person, so I find a majority of the reptiles cute, such as:

-Ekans line
-Totodile line
-Snivy line
-Kecleon

Other misc. Pokémon I find cute:
-Charizard (just so we're clear, Charizard is an amphibian)
-Dragonite (don't know why, I just do)

 

Most squishy, wide-eyed, derp-eyed, or silly looking Pokémon qualify as cute for me. Also, I find Maractus cute, though quite forgettable. Its eyes and its odd smile sell it for me.

 

I usually find pastel Pokémon to be the cutest tbh. But if we're talking about Pokémon that aren't normally seen as cute, there are lots I think fit into this category! l've always found metapod and pupitar cute. I dunno, maybe it's their body shapes and expressionless faces!

 

Oh well theres quite a number i am not sure tho, i like arcues i guess i think hes cute. and deoxys and rayquaza. i find mewtwo cute for some reason Lol. XD

 

I find larvesta kinda cute and joltic as well as scolipede's line. But omg do I hate real life bugs lol

 

What makes a Pokémon cute in my opinion is usually the eyes or it's body shape.
For example -
[3D=togepi] [3D=mew] [3D=pachirisu]

Togepi has a cute lil body, while Mew and Parchirisu have both cute eyes and a cute body structure.
Hard to tell from the 3D sprites, so a better example would be the adoptables.


It's hard to pinpoint which I like most, but Mew would definitely be up top on my list.

 

Same as @[member="shinygiratinaz"], I love how adorable Darkrai looks. I've always thought it to be cute. Also, I find Wobbuffet to be extremely adorable.

 

In my opinion, the cutest Pokémon has to be Dewott
I mean, just look at him!

Sure he's got those dual-wield scalchops, and that tough guy facade, but he's seriously adorable, more-so than Oshawott.

And then there's Nosepass

Nosepass is quite cute, with his giant red nose. His cry in the original RSE sounds like a duck, so I always thought that was what he was supposed to be.

Speaking of ducks, Farfetch'd

I mean, it's a duck. It was born to be cute.
Plus my IRL senpai calls me little duck, and this was the only duck Pokémon I liked.
Well, I do like Psyduck. It is also cute.
