What did you grow up listening to?

I remember a lot of Maroon Five, MIKA, Cat Empire, and Missy Higgins. I didn't really like MIKA and Cat Empire a lot as a kid, especially The Wine Song by the latter band, but I absolutely love these two now.

 

Early childhood it was Spice Girls and 80s rock, as I became a young pre-teen/teen I started to listen to typical angsty shit like Linkin Park and also this band called Alien Ant Farm.

I like none of it these days.

 

I was raised listening to BSB (Backstreet Boys), The Police, The Cars, and Electric Light Orchestra. I still like The Police and ELO, but I've shifted away from most pop and classic rock over the years and now lean towards heavy rock and alternative.

 

I grew up on my dad's 70s and 80s rock albums. But at school Green Day, Simple Plan, Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls were all the rage too

 

I was born in the mid-end of the 90s,so I grow up hearing 90s and 200s songs, and also Japanese music(the anime end/opening songs and whatever)

 

Oh dear god...

I was so musically unaware as a child it's scary. I pretty much listened to nothing but Beatles, Weird Al, and various musicals until I was a teenager, and then I started getting a bit more into 70s-80s rock, and around 17 I started really getting into symphonic metal.

 

I grew up with a lot of Classic Rock and Rock'n'Roll. I remember my parents and my sister really got me into liking ABBA, The Cars, The Beatles, Buddy Holly, etc.

 

For me it was a lot of pop music that my sister would have on :0
like Taylor swift mainly but that's all ew to me now xD
I'm more of an alternative indie, EDM, and chiptune person now

 

Mainly pop music, though when I was younger I mostly played video games, so I guess OST.

 

80's and 90's country, and 80 and 90's pop--but once the famed Irish dance show "Riverdance" took the US by storm, I fell head over heels in love with Celtic music

Since then, I've come to love all kinds of music from around the world, as well as jazz

 

I didn't like or care for music for a long time.
When I first started to develop my music taste it began with random things I found on the internet such as the Caramelldansen and that Butterfly song, you know, these weird Japanese trance songs people put behind Pikachu dances.

 

I grew up listening to bands like The Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Linkin Park, Nirvana, and OneRepublic. However, I also grew up with a very vivid song: "My Little Butterfly."

 

Metal music 0_0 Though I can't remember what bands
Though I know which ones I listen to now, which is Kingdom of Giants, Crown The Empire, Heartist, etc

 

Mainly Bruce Springsteen, thanks to my dad who played it EVERYWHERE.

 

I mostly listened to my dad's old collection of rock hits. Van Halen, Rush, Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Joe Satriani , etc.

 

I guess I kind of went through three different types of music that I was listening to. I can't quite remember what I listened to but in middle school I know it was pop music just kinda whatever was on the radio but now I find myself liking the music from soundtracks for games as well as other peoples interpretations and remixes of them.

 

A lot of classical music for me.

That, and Grunge/Modern Adult Alt.

Muse, Foster the People, Paramore, etc.

 

I grew up listening to The Beatles! I think I still memorize all their songs until now

 

U2, Green Day, Blue Oyster Cult.... Pretty much anything my parents played XD
