Now, I'm not talking about fancy graphics, or birch being mauled in 3d, no, I'm talking about competitive play. Pokémon like beedrill and loppuny have distorted the play and are sending smogon's staff hiding behind their sofa's. at the moment, three of the top physical threats which can check a Pokémon in UBERS is in UU. So many Pokémon in OU are being checked and some are coming forward as counters, how will all this end? so give me your opinion, is ORAS friend? or is it a foe? Don't forget about your explanation!

Edit: Maybe this title wasn't the best one, I get carried away easily, maybe "What do you think about the rankings for ORAS mega's?"

Personally, I agree with them. I do think that there are many mega Pokémon that are hard to cover, like Mega Metagross, Mega Lopunny, Mega Diancie, Mega Heracross, but nothing's really super hard to manage. But then again, it's really hard to have a perfect team in this metagame. You're gonna win some, you're gonna lose some.

Mega Heracross is in XY xD. But i understand your point.

I run a M-Beedrill team and i use it to test the members and their team. I run it in Ubers and in almost all my battles. ORAS Megas were a huge change in the metagame, but i get used to it fast and i am having new experiencies not only with M-Beedrill. After M-Salamence ban obviously the metagame changed again on a short amount of time because it was a little maybe very hard to others to counter, and now the competitive game is more open to options.

Maybe some rankings are a little imperfect, sometimes but i like playing and wont be stopping playing for a few things.

I couldn't agree more on the teambuilding front, being a teambuilding mentor myself, I know that the meta is always changing, people are using Pokémon in a way that has never been thought of, take Pacharisu for example, never thought of any significance bit that got turned upside down in VGC14. What I struggle to grasp is that mega's are supposedly not hard to manage, the whole point of mega's are to make the Pokémon hard to manage, to give old Pokémon a new chance. if they're not doing their job, why are they in OU?

Some people (me included) see change and have to adapt it in a way so they're always on their guard, thinking things through technically. I'm not saying I'm againstt change, but I take a while to adapt to it in the way I do. and when M-Salalmence came through, it was not nice. people can back me up on that. people are still adapting to megamence. and on your final point I couldn't agree with you more, I wont stop playing, but I may start thinking...

    that's not a good idea...

All of the megas have inflated stats, even the ones who haven't done so well in OU (Mega Audino, Mega Camerupt), so all of the megas look good on paper, which is also why many are in OU. Take Mega Latios as an example. Latios is a better choice with a life orb than Mega Latios because it can deal more damage, so Mega Latios is seen as an underachieving Mega. But the stats of Mega Latios still make it a threatening option, which is why it can't move down. Other Megas like Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Charizard Y seem to not be doing their jobs well, even though they have insanely high stats. They have high potential, but so many players are being able to manage them with proper counters.

Placing these Megas in lower tiers, like UU, would mess up their metagames because these Pokémon are still supposed to be tough to beat. Think about it. If we placed mega-blaziken in OU, would that mess things up? It sure would, because that means more people will have to run Slowbros and Talonflame (priority brave bird) in order to keep up, and others can take advantage of that, creating disorder in the metagame. Megamence would do the same if it is brought back. I would most likely keep a mamoswine, weavile, or unaware clefable on my team in order to avoid being swept by that monster.

Disorder is not liked by the competitive community, so currently, it is best to keep the tiers the way they are as they are not too chaotic at the moment.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say lol
