What generation got you in to the series?

Generation 1! I've always Pokémon. I loved how cute all the Pokémon were and I really liked the storyline, though I never actually finished the game my first time playing.

 

It was Hoenn that got me back into the main Pokémon series. I originally stopped after playing Yellow but it was until my friend re-introduced me to R/S it helped me continue my path as a Pokémon Ranger! So I'll defiantly give Hoenn props for that!

 

First gen. Yellow was my first video game and Pokémon game ever, and since then I've always been a fan. Never once considered dropping the Pokémon games.

 

Ruby was my first game, but it was Leafgreen that made me want to keep playing.

 

Uh, Gen 3 was my first game but I think Gen 4 was the generation that kept me playing.

 

Gen IV was my first game, and I really enjoyed it. But I had no idea how to Pokémon at the time, and ended up doing a solo run on accident with Piplup, now a level 100 Empoleon...

But anyway, I went back to Gen III after that. It was a blast playing, so I went back further to Gen II. Sadly, I never got to Gen I.

So I don't know. It's either Gen IV or Gen III that got me to keep playing the games.

 

Gen III, Sapphire in particular. I've been addicted ever since.

As you can imagine, I am very excited for Alpha Sapphire.

 

Gen 4 was technically my first game, but the Pokémon game that got me hooked on the franchise was actually Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness. I think that was kinda in Gen 3. So Gen 3 and Gen 4, depending on how you look at it.

 

The 2nd generation. Gold was the first game I've ever played and was what got me interested in the series. Many years ago, my neighbour had Gold on her GameBoy and was playing it. I was curious as to what game it was and asked to try it out. Needless to say, I got hooked. I then asked her if I could borrow it for a while and defeated the Elite Four using a level 70+ Fearow and a level 50+ Feraligatr with the rest of my team still below level 10. Good times, good times.

 

Gen1 since that's when I started playing (Blue version), but my fave will always be Gen3. I love the secret base and the contest (too bad they took those away. :/)

 

Well, my first game was Soul Silver, so I'll have to say Gen 4.... ^~^

 

I'd like to say Gen1, but I started out with Gen2, and that's what really got ME into the series.

 

With LeafGreen being the first Pokémon game I ever played, I guess Gen III is my choice! And even though Pokémon X was the first legit game I got (the rest was all on emulators), it was the Kanto region that really introduced me to the world of Pokémon

 

Diamond/Pearl/Platinum; aka Gen 4. I started off in gen 1, but I didn't really get a full feel for the game until fourth gen came around and I finally got myself into playing and beating the game on my own accord instead of letting someone else do it for me.

 

If we're talking about the games it's gen 4, because Diamond was my first game, but I have been into Pokémon since gen 1, I just never got around to play the games.

 

First generation when I was 8 or 9. Absolutely everyone in my class was into Pokémon at the time so I'd have been the odd one out to not get into the series, lol. I fell in love instantly and have been getting all the games on release day since! ...well, except R/B/Y and G/S/C. Back then I was too young to know what release dates were. =D;

 

Gen 6. I played 3 when I was younger, but I never played it and just watched the series. Needless to say, I'm hooked now x3
