So, I got this idea from a combination of a different thread and Mr. Buddy's "What if blank was a pokémon region?" videos, and decided to try my hand at my own home area, the Northeast US, and also ask for suggestions and help and stuff because I'm completely new to something like this. Anyway, I already have the borders thought of, though they are subject to change in light of new suggestions or people pointing out flaws or other things. Borders: The mountains of West Virginia and Virginia are extended east to the shores of the Chesapeake Bay south of the Potomac and and are extended north-northwest into Ohio along the Ohio/Pennsylvania border up to around where I-76 is. Lake Erie is rotated into a more north-south position, meeting the extended mountains. It is also extended north to merge with Lake Ontario. The St. Lawrence is widened and also enters the Atlantic further to the south, along where the border between Quebec and New Brunswick is, clipping the current Maine/Quebec border and including a piece of Canada in with the region. Also, the river is shifted a bit further north closer to Lake Ontario, completely including Montreal in the region but excluding Quebec City. Where it exits Lake Ontario is shifted west, so the region includes a piece of Ontario, including Kingston. Nova Scotia is removed from the mainland, merging with Prince Edward Island and being moved further out into the Atlantic, forming a new island. The rest of the Atlantic Shore is kept mostly the same south of Nova Scotia, however Virginia’s portion of the Delmarva Peninsula is removed, opening the Chesapeake more to the ocean.
It would be better than the rather limited Unova region (which primarily covers the NYC and Hudson River areas of New York).
I agree that Unova was rather limited in what could have been used. Also, I have a list of cities that I think could be included: Kingston, Ontario; Watertown, New York; Syracuse, New York; New York, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Baltimore, Maryland; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Buffalo, New York; Montreal, Quebec; Fredericton, New Brunswick; Portland, Maine; Boston, Massachusetts; Ocean City, Maryland; Washington, District of Columbia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; and Sydney, Nova Scotia. I've already struck a few cities from the list for being too similar to other cities, those ones being Saint John, New Brunswick; Albany, New York; and Erie, Pennsylvania. I may strike Buffalo for the same reasons, though for the sake of making the region look pretty on a map, i may keep it. I'm open to suggestions on cities to either strike from the list or perhaps suggestions on cities in the area that I may have missed.
