What inspires you to write your stories/fanfiction? Just a spirrr of an idea? Something a character did in your favorite show? Do you just search the internet for ideas? What inspires you?

Usually I get most of my ideas from small bits from either TV shows, movies, or books I've read. Something such as a small detail about a character's ability to fly in the skies can spread into an idea of a Utopia in the Clouds where people fly from place to place and have other aerial abilities such as manipulating clouds etc. Sometimes just looking at scenery can help spark a new writing idea as well.

What inspires you to write your stories/fanfiction?

I think that a feeling. Just watching TV and remembering something like : "I remember when I was a child and I jump..." is a common melancholy feeling that comes to my mind. I try to put that melancholy on some of my stories. I do the same with the other kind of texts too.

I often try to search on the different lines of time (past, present and future) to get inspiration. But, the inspiration comes for almost everything. Like a whisper, a word or simply the way that a person that you love Is breathing.

There are many ways to get inspiration. It is hard to have just one.

Reading good fanfiction gets me in the mood to write, while an idea popping randomly in my head allows me to. The inspiring one actually got me into writing.

The very first time I started writing a fanfiction, it was honestly just out of sheer boredom. I had played all the Pokémon games, all the popular hacks, I had done all the challenges over and over again... Then suddenly the idea of writing a story about my playthrough of the game came up in my mind, and so it happened xD My second fanfiction just started because I had some more good ideas, but that never took off very well... Maybe I'll continue it once, but it definitely won't be any time soon.

Self-determination and passion mostly drives me. I do become inspired from either watching a good anime/movie or if I play a good game and some other things that tickle my fancy (songs for example). I tend make other characters bleed into mine from time to time, but that is mostly subtle. I try to use references from the games or make up some of my own; to provide a sense of nostalgia and originality. The ideas I've concocted also drives me to complete it, an incentive is good once in a while, isn't it?

Other stories, other games, and even songs--I've had whole chapters write themselves because of a song

For me, real life is my motivation to create fantasy. Specifically, it's the simplest things in everyday life that inspire me to write. The idea can bloom into something massive and turn into an epic tale, or the idea can be a small little one-shot about that simple idea. For example, I wanted to write a story that included the idea of blending the lines between what is morally right and wrong. Finding the gray area, if you will, is something that is a common occurrence. This idea took form in the character of Tom, a kind man whose mind had been wiped completely clean of information. Part of the way into the story, he begins getting his memory back. He remembers that he used to be the most powerful villain in existence. After that, he has to try to still be a good guy while circumstances continually force him to make morally questionable choices for the greater good.

Another example is in a story I wrote called "Simple Words." At not even 2,000 words long, this story focuses on one character's fears being put to rest by the kindness of a good friend. That's it. A simple, everyday occurrence is highlighted, and then the story ends.

Usually a scene from a story I read or a show/movie I see will inspire me to write something based off the events of said scene. More recently, listening to songs and reading prompts can get the spark of inspiration to light, even if I don't actually write anything with it.

I must say that fantasy is definitely a major motivator for me as are my nightmares. However, one of my main driving forces is music. If I hear an instrumental or a song I can just picture scenarios occurring and bam. Suddenly its a great idea and I just have to write about it. x3 The tone of music really helps me picture what and how a scenario turns out. o uo

For fanfictions, it's the simple "What if..."

For my original fiction, it's different from story to story. But mostly it's the characters I want to see. Esidar (working title) was inspired by my want of a story where both sides of the story was explained. Where villains and heroes were only determined by if the reader cast the role.

BAM! Wild Muse used Bat of Inspiration. It is super effective!

Hm...well, for me, I usually have an idea kicking around, and then something clicks, something totally random that makes perfect sense and must absolutely be written ASAP, sometimes a name, sometimes a thought that develops and evolves and just becomes amazing in its own right.

I get inspiration from song lyrics, other fanfiction, movies or what a character does. It just sparks off but sometimes it dies out very quickly and other times it grows into a roaring fire. I haven't had the time to write up stories even though it is one of my many hobbies.

I look forward to the day I can get back on the fanfiction/writer's wagon.

I started out with Franticshipping (RubyxSapphire) stories so I derive inspiration from reading PokeSpe manga and other Shoujo manga. Now, I'm doing an full OC story. My OCs are a mix of various anime characters. Anime has always been my inspiration and it helps me to visual things. Fantasy-themes are my fave so games like Final Fantasy are also a big influence.

Honestly, other people. I love listening to other people tell their life stories and it really gives me inspiration to write. I love to see struggle and to see heart in a story. Realistic things make me happy, and honestly, genuine feelings that I see, make my stories 1000x better.

I'm inspired to write mostly when prompted to.

Outside of my common satire and "slice of life", I find it hard to write at all. Typically, things in my life are what inspire me to write, and I try to continue fueling that spark. I find it hard to communicate in spoken word, so written language is where I try to improve my communication skills. (That's also inspiration.)

I am usually inspired by music! A single song can inspire me to write up a whole new character or plot-line. The beat, lyrics && tempo all influence the design of the plot or character I am creating.

Sometimes ideas pop into my head and make me really eager to write them down, especially after a memorable dream (which I've been having a little more often lately). Otherwise other good stories or inspirational music can push me to write more than I usually would. Really wish that would happen more often, feh.
