What is time well spent?

I consider any time talking with your friends or family is time well spent. In honesty, everything that makes you happy is time well spent. I feel like if you don't enjoy yourself in a position where you're not comfortable, that is something you should stop doing because you could have been doing something else with your life.

 

There is a quote I once heard that I really love, "Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."

And, if you're not enjoying yourself, as long as you're working toward something that makes you happy or you will benefit from (for example, studying for a college class that will help you get the degree you always wanted), that is also not wasted.

And I do believe there needs to be a balance between those two (about half-and-half, but it varies for some), in order to make the absolute most of your time. c:

 

Time well spent... I know that my time here on Lake Valor is well spent .

That being said, this really depends on the life circumstances. For example, a teenager may think that beating a Pokémon game in one day is time well spent whereas an adult might say that completing part of a renovation is time well spent. Furthermore, the elderly might not be as productive as others, so they might consider their time well spent while accomplishing something lesser.

I spend a lot of my time playing on my keyboard and improvising music. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter that I played on my keyboard, but at the time, the time was well spent.

Perspective. The place and time. Circumstances.

I wrote a lot, huh.

 

Working on LV and getting a lot of stuff done, or doing something really hard in Pokémon is time well spent for me, now days.

I think spending time with friends/family and helping people is also time well worth spent.

 

To me, enjoying yourself has a lot to do with spending your time well. Granted, there are times where you need to sacrifice pleasure--for example, getting a job you aren't particularly fond of just to continue paying for necessities--but even then, you may still find something about them that you enjoy. In the case of the job example, you may like that you're making money to support yourself and possibly your family. So, time well spent is enjoying what you're doing and making the best out of something you may not like at first~

 

Spending time on your own, getting important things done, and spending time with friends and family. That is time well spent.
