Personally, I love to listen to Two Steps From Hell since they have such a big variety of types of music that nearly anyone can at least like one song, if not more. So who is your favorite group and why?
I love Two Steps from Hell! I listen to their music from time to time. But I also have such a weird range of music I listen to. I'll go anywhere from Sia to those live playlists on Youtube that are ~chill~ compilations people listen to when they're studying. If I listen to anything with lyrics while I'm drawing I get super distracted.
Groups like Oh Wonder, Studio Killers, and Red Velvet. As for singular artists- Moe Shop, Mystery Skulls, Linoskiii, Stephen, and Shiloh Dynasty. My music tastes are all over the place-
OneRepublic is probably my favorite group. I'll listen to just about every genre, but usually there are only between 1-3 songs by one group that I'll like. I like most OneRepublic songs, and the instrumental covers of their songs are nice to listen to on occasion too. There's a singer who goes by Vienna Teng who I like a lot too. I like most of her songs and they tend to be "soft" enough, if that's a good way to describe them, that I can listen to them even while working on something and not get too distracted.
Just in terms of groups, my favorites are The Beatles, U2, Queen, and the Punch Brothers (an excellent bluegrass band, well-known in the genre though bluegrass itself is pretty obscure). My music tastes aren't in that I like everything, it's that I dislike very particular things, and would be happy with listening to anything else. In answer to the little poll above, I mostly listen to lyrical pieces, though I enjoy ones with no words as well. It's fun to be able to have words to go along with the melody when a song gets stuck in your head, though.
I don't like groups where each person has same-length parts - in my opinion, it disrupts the flow coming from one voice. I am OK with there being 1 or 2 features on a song, however.
Mostly I listen to European Metal, primarily Omnium Gatherum and Gojira. Lately, however, I'm listening to a lot of female-vocal Metals, mostly Deadlock but also some Lacuna Coil and Destiny Potato. I'm looking to expand into hip hop, either current or old school. Feel free to throw some recommendations my way if you know any good musicians.
Kalafina I guess, although I absolutely love Akiko Shikata's voice and I have most of her songs. Although I listen mostly to music without vocals more often these days, as there isn't much variety to themes in lyrics.
I listen to mostly metal and Rock, and a bit of Electro Swing, Synthwave, and classical as well. Some of my favourite metal bands are Powerwolf, Equilibrium, Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath Slayer, Carach Angren, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Sleep. Favourite rock bands; The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Yes, The Sword, Tame Impala, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Other artists I like: ABBA, Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar, Swingrowers, Dance with the Dead, Waveshaper, First Aid Kid, and Dead can Dance.
