I know that most people like using the basic Trophy, Master ball, Pokéball, Smash ball, but are there any others that you like using for various reasons (Like mine is the chicken for the giggles)?
Sorry, as y’all know: I am a For Glory player... But, hey. I main low tiers so that compensates for something. You can always catch me hitting the blitz as Zard and going for the style as Doc. Caping those recoveries are so satisfying. And I just love going for those stylish B-air stage spikes. And for Zard, well.... I just love playing as him. He hits hard and is a well rounded heavy weight. But if I must use items I guess I’m cool with the Smash Ball.
Everyone plays as Pokémon on Pokémon Stadium with Smash Balls and Pokeballs set to high spawn rates. It's complete chaos and it's glorious.
I'm partial to the Harisen (it's simply known as the Fan, but it's really a harisen, a folded fan that is used as gag item in Japanese shows and anime; it is frequently used during comedic moments). The 'smack' sound it makes is SOOOOO satisfying... XD Now, naturally, if I'm practicing for competitive play, of course I turn items off, but I find myself playing party-style more often nowadays, like I did when I first got into the series, so items show up far more often than they used to. Consequence of getting old, I suppose...
I don't typically use items, but I when I Do, I usually use the Smash Ball, Pokeballs, and Mushrooms. I feel like items get in the way a lot, so that prevents me from using them.
Footballs. Or soccer balls as they are also named. For added chaos, footballs (possibly with hammers) on the Mario Bros. stage. With walking hazards and flaming football hazards, the stage becomes more nonsensical than it already is and makes for a fun match where not even the A.I knows what’s going on most of the time. (Stating just in case: I’m talking about Brawl)
I'm also a For Glory player, like most of my sparring partners. We had some people who liked items, and they'd start calling the game Tekken because of that, so flat and boring in comparison to what Smash could be. The weird thing is, some of my favorite fighters have good item reflection. Mewtwo, Doc Mario, ROB. Even knowing that, I prefer non-item. When I do have items, I use almost everything except Master Balls, Smash Balls, and Super Stars; since they all turn the tide of battle way too easily. I do especially like the Cuckoos though, largely because you can trigger them accidentally. It forces you to be more aware.
I personally use whatever is available at the moment. Got too much damage? Eat some food. Need a partner? Use a Pokéball. Opponent P****** you off? Throw a box at `em! (Especially if it`s explosive.)
It’s basically us messing around on smash. either on DS or Wii U. We all just duke it out on there. My mains I use are my Jade Charizard, Shadey Dr Mario, and Fire Mario
Omega stage, timers only. OP combos galore! Also, smart bombs, and Mario Bros Underground only (with coin battle as an option to make it more chaotic).
My friend and I don't understand the basics of using items properly, so we have all of them active and just do whatever.
