Sword and Shield introduced a new mechanic called Dynamaxing, which allows Pokémon to turn giant for three turns and increases their power tremendously. Some specific Pokémon have the ability to take on Gigantamax forms when they Dynamax, though the number of Pokémon that can do this is rather limited (only 26, including 2 that aren't actually available yet). Let's say, however, that GameFreak had decided to add a few more of these forms into the games. Which Pokémon do you think should be able to Gigantamax, and what do you think those forms should be like?
It might be an overkill with Gigantamax Pikachu, but I think Raichu should get a Gigantamax form because Raichu never gets the spotlight.
Raichu did get some light with the Alolan Form, though. I think - out of the Pokémon that are actually in the game - Gigantamax Shiftry or Gigantamax Claydol would've been cool. I rarely remember those two existing... Since Shiftry was based on the tengu, I can see it sprouting entire leaf-wings, as well as some more leaves around its body in general. Gigantamax Glaydol would just be larger, with more runes and floating parts - not unlike Mega Alakazam but with clay balls instead of spoons. It could potentially have more sections on its body, such as two balls per "limb" instead of just one. The starters getting Gigantamaxes would've been cool, tho. Imagine Intelleon getting an actual suit, Cinderace with a more amped-up design and Rillaboom with a full set of drums. I liked that the Gen 7 starters had access to their generation's gimmick.
Can we all agree that Meowth doesn’t need a Gigantamax form since it already has an Alolan form and a Galarian form? That said, I’d love to see Gigantamax Vanilluxe. I think its design should include various ice cream toppings like sprinkles, chocolate sauce, and a cherry on top. Its G-Max move would be G-Max Softserve, and the additional effect would set up Aurora Veil (and hail presumably). EDIT: I didn’t realize Gigantamax Lapras sets up Aurora Veil, whoops. (I didn’t even know Lapras had a Gigantamax form until recently, lol) G-Max Softserve would set up Mist (blocks stat drops for 5 turns).
Similar to @ChocoChicken, I wouldve loved to see Gigantimax of Shiftry and it's counterpart Ludicolo. For shiftry I would imagine an elaborate Kabuki styled costume and perhaps small leaf puppets dancing around it, a bit like g-Corviknight For Ludicolo, its hat would be huge and constantly filled with water that would splash out causing rain as it dances around.
Falinks. There's that one awesome art somewhere on the internet of a concept. Hydreigon would've been cool too. (although it probably won't sit well with comp since it's one of the 600 gang) but they could've given it a throwback to its original concept of being battle tank/cybernetics akin to the mecha kaiju genre. Two artificial heads alongside its regular ones and sloped armor plating.
Dunsparce of course! He got cheated out of a mega evolution in the X and Y, he should get what he deserves. Seriously though I'd like to see what the creator at game freak can come up with for Dunsparce.
I think Aegislash deserves a Gigantamax. Because, ya know, its the sword/shield Pokémon At any rate, it should look kinda like Excalibur or something, with the sword being embedded in a giant stone. Seems fitting if you ask me, especially based on the game's context. @BraviaryScout And I agree, Falinks DEFINITELY needs one. Falinks feels like a very wasted 'mon IMO.
Oh my gosh, Aegislash would have a totally awesome Gigantamax. Honestly though, I would just like to see Gigantamax forms for any Pokémon that's not in gens 1 or 8.
Honestly? I came to post this irrespective of the post that ended up being above this one, but anything neglected outside of Gen 1 and 8. The only Gigantamax forms outside of those gens are Garbodor and debatably Melmetal (who I consider Gen 7). For example, why couldn't there have been a Gigantamax Xatu, Drapion, Whimsicott, or Flygon especially? I can at least kind of see Charizard, Pikachu, Eevee and Meowth for marketing purposes, but did Gengar and Machamp really need more? I think Mega Evolution was at its best with things like Mega Manectric and Mawile, and this is no exception.
I would like lesser known Pokémon to have been Gigantamaxed, instead of more popular or Generation one Pokémon. I just want to see more unusual Pokémon used for Gigantic news.
