What the bloody hell is the Global Link?

You have to use Game Sync to get started on it.

 

It's similar to Gen V's Global Link but without the Dream World. You can still play minigames to earn PokeMiles and exchange them for items. There's also a Discount Coupon that you can get for a limited item only. You can also view the medals you earned here since the game doesn't show them.

To access it, you need to use the Game Sync so the game can get an ID for you. Then you need to make an account on the website and register your game.

 

I tried it once and I didn't get it. I never got the Global Link on White because that just confused me. I never had access to the internet with gen 5 anyway, and so I still feel like I'm missing some crucial information about the GL. To the best of my knowledge, I can tell that it's a way of getting items by playing games (that is, more games than the Pokémon games themselves) and then bringing them down to your game. Sorta seems unnecessary considering the items can be obtained in-game so this extraneous method of getting them doesn't really seem to stick out much.

Can you still get Pokémon from the GL?

 

I think maybe later they will release different berries than what you can get in-game on it.

 

It's basically something like in Gen 5, there's a website for it, you sync your game up to it after creating an account on the site. I don't know what they are gonna do this Gen though. Sadly the server has been busy so I couldn't physically get into it through the game at the moment.

 

Global Link was quite easy for me besides the signing up for the Pokémon.com account. All I had to do was register some code on my Gl account and I was easy from their.

 

I think you're supposed to perform a Game Sync again so the girl will appear. I've done this before so I'm pretty sure that's how it goes. The girl will appear next to the Pokémon Center's PC.

You can transfer your PokeMiles just by using Game Sync.

 

It happens a lot xP I think they are still working on it. Just keep trying. Once you have done it once, it will be set to automatically sync up every time you save while connected to the internet. It makes saving take a little bit longer, but once its done, all you have to do is save to get the stuff you sent off the global link. The pokemiles will also be automatically sent to the Global Link unless you change your game sync settings to say otherwise.
